with the top five teams all on 11 points ,Ipswich are top on goal difference. they have score 11 goals and conceeded 4 goals, so Ipswich are close to scoring three goals to evry town goal ! , so no wonder there fans are confident about the season . as town's injuries continue to mount we are looking rather light on options for the forwards ( Ricketts was confident we would sign another forward) i was relived to hear that Pierre will be playing before he goes off on international duties. town will do well to get a point we have seen how town tend to play, so we can excpect town to spend a lot of time in there own half, if we have Goss fit our midfield might look sharper after a pedestrian performance, let us hope we can see thompson come in for the last twenty minutes to give is some pace and more charging runs. morison and whalley will start unless udoh is fit and if fit he will more pobabley come on as a sub.
I agree that getting a point will be a decent result today for Town. It might be interesting to see SR plays Laurent in front of Goss today. The attack is almost deciding itself with Okenabirhie being injured.
this is towns third game were we conceed two goals in quick succession, as for stats town had 12 shoots 6 on target but no goals but came close, who knowes how town will be when evryone is fully fit but we badly need another forward, ipswich are top for a reason ricketts must work on tactic around how town game manage things after conceeding a goal , such as we need to slow the game down and ,retain possession .
This was a really odd game. We had more and better chances than in the last three home games put together but our lack of finishing power cost us dear. An officious ref and the tendency of our midfield ( apart from the excellent Laurent) to be caught napping on the ball gave them their chances and the first was a great strike. Their penalty was marginal and we had a clear handball ( hands in an unnatural position) at the end which was not given. We played much better after Whaley was sent off because we switched to a 4 4 1. I did feel sorry for Shaun - he is one of our most talented and committed players but he is getting frustrated by having to play in a position he is not suited to. I am afraid to say it looks to be a season too far for Morrison and Edwards needs to start taking some chances if he is to justify his place in the team.I have been to four league games this season and have yet to see us score - we need Norburn back and at least one new striker asap. Finally a word about our support. The numbers and volume were great but I would like to see everyone focus on support for our team rather than insulting the opposition fans - the latter lead to a few unsavoury incidents at the end.
