McGoldrick shoots low straight at Pope and memories of Derby at home come flooding back... but he holds it comfortably.
Sammon is almost in, but Bikey makes a tremendous last-ditch tackle and evens wins a goal-kick out of it.
Goal for Ipswich. It falls to Noel Hunt on the edge of the area and he shoots low into the far corner. 0-1
Full time 0-1 Sickening. We were the better side but paid the price for not taking any of the chances we created. Our unbeaten home run has gone. Look forward to hearing from those who were there.
Now that's a real bugger, but if you don't bury your chances, that's always a possibility. Sounded to me like a wake up call for RD to GET ANOTHER STRIKER IN. I'm now going to sod off and sulk for a bit, but I'll be back later to see if those who were there have anything to add.
Talk about a smash n grab! You were unlucky boys and it looked liked a draw but a Mick McCarthy team never gives up.
I have just got back and we played well. The difference between the sides was they scored from a chance we didn't convert any of ours. I know I sound like a broken record but we need more options upfront. They have got Noel Hunt, Mc Goldrick, Murphy. We have Vetokele, it says it all. It was rather ironic that the person they brought in on loan scored the winner. Good displays from Pope, Solly, Bikey, Ben Haim Gudmundsson, Coquelin and The Harriott's first half. We are going to play worse and win.
Very enjoyable game we were superb at times thats how it goes we never win on tv or beat ipswich at home so no surprise
Anyone notice the cheeky little headbutt by Wilson off the ball? Only small but if spotted he'd have been in big trouble. All in all, poor mistakes but encouraging signs, just need that striker, something we've been calling for all season >< Gutting result but we can still push on and have a very good season. Thought Fox was poor, Gudmundsson ran the show in 1st half but then 2nd half came out liek a sunday league player. Igor had a bad day, Most frustrating thing is Harriott. He has such ability but seems to refuse to take on his man for fear of abuse if it goes wrong, he needs to forget about the fear of failure and just do what he does best... run at people. Oh and Jacko was annonymous, not sure if he was doing the work you don't want to notice or was just poor today.
Did anyone else turn up 20 minutes late thinking it was a 12.45 Kick Off? No? #DownWithModernFootball
Second home game in a row that we carried no goal threat. Unfortunate that our best chance fell to the useless Harriott after Igor's pull back. Ipswich were better than Millwall, and smacked our arses. Roland's skinflint transfer policy now starting to bite. **** forbid Igor gets injured. My player ratings: Pope - handled well. 7 Solly - usual solid self 7 Fox - crap. Immobile. Very slow. Poor passer. 3 Jackson. Worked hard, but again past his best 5 Ben Haim - MOM for me, 8 Bikey - good game 7 JBG - ****ing awful. Jesus Christ looked better on a cross. ****e corners. 2 Cousins- plain out of form 4 Harriott - headless chicken routine no.100. No end product. 4 Igor - not the player he was two months ago -6 Coquelin - did ok. 6
Who wrote that report, Reams. A total overreaction. Harriott did very well first half, but didn't get much ball second half. A 2 for Gudmundsson? You are having a laugh, I agree the corners were not good but he had his moments. I thought that was one of our better displays this Season. But the problem remains the aim of the game is to put the ball in the onion bag and we are not very good at that.
No. I am not influenced by others opinions, those are my ratings based on being at the game today. I think people cut Harriott too much slack. Our best chance fell to him, and we got an air shot FFS. How many times has he done that ? JBG can't even beat the first man at a corner. Ipwich's corners were much better than ours. Basics. I just don't rate Fox at the moment at this level, although I would like him to succeed. If Igor (not fit) gets injured now, we are in the brown apple sauce.
I know you are not influenced by other opinions, the comment about Reams was a bit tongue in cheek. I really think we are three players away from being a side that can push on to the play offs. But unfortunately those players were not forthcoming in August, nor in the loan market. When it comes to January I think we will be out of contention so I can see RD not splashing the cash. To me, the policy is flawed, surely you should strengthen when you are in contention.
Reading CL it looks like some numpties think we played well today. I myst have been at a different game. It is sio boring under Bob. It is almost back to the watching paint dry performances under Powell. AreTucadean and Bulot really that crap that he brings Wilson on first. Dont answer that question. Thank God we have got Blackpool at home next..we might score against them. The bottom line is...and I have been barred from other sites from saying this (but not Twitter )....our player recruitment policy from Day 1 under RD stinks like a rat found dead in a sewer. Someone else has posted that Bob started his 3 previous managets jobs with promise..before quickly tailing off...just saying...
Well I must be a numpty as well because I thought we played well. It's all about opinions. Why you have to call people a numpty because their opinion differs from yours I don't know. I also thought it was one of the better games at the Valley, but what do I know.I really didn't think there was much between the teams today.
