Ipswich Match Thread

Better football than the Millwall match. We are having much more of the play with five in midfield but not much goal threat.

I have been particularly watching Jackson in view of our recent thread. He has barely touched the ball.

 

We're under way again. Charlton attacking the Jimmy Seed Stand.

No changes.

 

Mings goes on a run and cuts inside before driving just wide of the far post.

 

Vetokele is almost in but before the ball can drop for him Mings gets back to head it clear.

 

Hee hee. Mings the merciless?

 

Tabb's cross goes to McGoldrick at the near post but he can't direct his header on target.

 

Great ball in from Solly and Vetokele goes for it, but he is just beaten to it by the defender.

 

Harriott slips in Vetoele but his first touch lets him down and the chance is gone.

 

Murphy is in down the left, and his dipping shot takes a touch on its way through. Corner.

 

This could have been a goal with one decent first touch,

 

Great flick on from Igor sets Harriott away, he plays it to Gudmundsson who tries to get it onto his favoured left foot, allowing the Ipswich defenders to get back. Then the ball comes to Cousins who tries to do what he did against Wigan, only to see his shot go over the bar.

 

Instinctive strike from McGoldrick in the penalty area, held by Pope.

 

Vetokele squares it for Harriott, who completely miskicks when very well placed.

 

McGoldrick shoots harmlessly wide from the corner of the penalty box.

 

Gudmundsson drifts infield and gets past one defender before firing over the bar, off-balance.

 

Sounds like a good game.

Hunt off, Sammon on.

 

Wilson plays in Vetokele but once again his first touch is poor and allows the defenders to get back and clear.

 

Gudmundsson to Harriott on the edge of the area, but he can't get his shot anywhere near the goal.
