I think it depends what the contract says. If Swans agreed to pay £160K if they got promoted, maybe they think they don't need to pay because Priskin got injured and went back to Ipswich. So it's down to what the contract says. If the contract doesn't mention what happens in the event of an injury, then Swans should pay up. The injury happened while at Swansea, so surely that makes it Swansea's responsibility. Buy the lawyers should always cover this in the contract. If they haven't then maybe time to get better lawyers. Without seeing the contract we'll never know.

It's a pile of sh*te. a little club jumping on the band wagon trying to screw some money out of us. Never really liked ipswich anyway. they want a tranfer embargo on us for £160,000 when some clubs owe 20 milion and still dabbling in the transfer market.

there's no way ipswich would be saying anything unless it say's we'll be paying x amount if we get to play-offs/go up, i think jenkins was hoping we would'nt have to pay as he got injured early and went back, i can't believe he knows nothing about this in the contract. we've been made a laughing stock.

Seems it was clear in the contract for as long as the run in the playoffs Swansea were to pay Priskin's wages and YES we have been made to look bloody stupid.

makes no difference, really these kinds of disagreements abound in the football world, ipswich needs to provide proof, and I still say that the premier league have jurisdiction in this as it didn't occur in that league, if the money is owed though it should be paid and will be

I don't understand the belief that somehow we (SCFC) look stupid. I think it's clear from the information we have it's a misunderstanding between the clubs.

Swans sent Priskin back early due to injury, and as a result obviously didn't feel they needed to pay this sum. Ipswich are clearly looking to discredit the Swans and cause a big scene by going to the press straight off. This is a petty dispute that could have been done behind doors if Clegg wanted to, as it turns out he realises we won "the richest game in world football" and can smell the money.

That simple in my opinion. I think neutrals can see that he's just trying to screw some money out of us.

Aber I don't do cheap shots mate, I back up my thoughts without the need to run people down, though the banter on the Cardiff board is a bit stale, think will go and see how Leeds are doing, at least they do bite and it's a laugh ;) and dude don't take things so personal it's just a forum not real life ;)

I see the cardiff board has finally woken up as they've got two threads going well there.

And it's all about Swansea City,I feel so honoured.

Seems Huw was being a little cheeky or malobservant. Either way we'll pay up and this is a combination of media sensationalism and Ipswichs chief exec employing effective but underhanded tactics (in my opinion) to get their money.

i dont know why fellow jacks are making light of this as its bloody serious and yet another mistake by huw, we need to pay up and thank ipswich and Say sorry. ipswich have obviously been corresponding with huw over this and this is ipswich last resort, who can blame them we would do the same if the rolls were reversed....get it sorted huw and get it sorted now.

Nobody knows the exact details of the contract. Yes, it seems a bit of an underhand tactic from Ipswich to air it and cover up the own situation with building for a Championship challenge, however.......
..... If it is true (and less face it, no smoke without fire), Ipswich have to make sound bites to get their own pickings from what is due. Let's face it guys, HJ and the Swans have bigger fish to fry this summer with a build to Prem football and are simply using delaying tactics.

We all do exactly the same thing when produced with a bill, do you pay it straight away and leave yourself not able to buy whay you really wanted with your dough......no! We just wait for the red bill to come in and then pay up!

It's exactly what our blubirds friends did last year, and there's nowt wrong with that. I doubt very much that Ipswich pay all they bills in advance.

It's a complete no story regarding any possible transfer embargo because if it is owed it will be paid, but when the Swans board want to pay it. END OF
