Personally I'd rather us sign a proven PL performer, if we were to do away with Briggs and Riise. If Riise keeps up the kind of performances he's been giving recently I'd be happy for him to stay.

He's right footed, but primarily plays on the left, but can play right back or on the wings.

I had thought about this when I heard that Fabio would be loaned out next season. However the way Riise has performed of late I don't see left-back as an immediate priority, certainly not as much as right back is anyway. In fact I'm hoping riise's improved displays will really give briggs someone to look up to and prove to Jol he has what it takes to make it at the top.

I personally don't think we need attacking fullbacks with the midfield players we have at the moment.
We need a solid back four and full backs who can first and foremost defend.

I think this depends on who is playing. If it's Dempsey on the left and Ruiz or Duff on the right then we do need full backs because they will always cut inside and crowd the midfield.

If it's Frei on the right and Duff/Ruiz/Kaca on the left then we dont, because they will stay wide.
