I'd take George Boyd easily. Proper grafter and he's got some quality when it matters. Kind of player fans love.

Can't believe it took Ashley until now to realise he should have invested in January.

It's what we were all calling for and what everyone could see .. apart from him.

But then back in January he was wearing his flip flops on holiday and not around to sort out a proper manager let alone dig around his pockets for some spare change for some players.

Ashley just needs to get out now.

    Please.

am I alone in thinking that the investment statement which has been put out is a very handy, and timely precursor to the announcement that we've made a load of cash?
It's just a bit of PR spin to put the fire out before it starts IMHO.

So same s*** as last year. Remember Colo stating last Summer that he was staying because Ashley and Pardew and told him who we would be recruiting and we could challenge for a CL place. Always thought I could never walk away but it's coming close.

It's all spin. The seasons dropping to an end like we all knew it would. Losing week in and week out with a numpty manager, thin squad and rich owner. The timing is right. The fans are rock bottom so let's make fake promises to give them hope and buy season tickets next year. Here's what we should do. Buy the players first, get a top manager and show us what we pay our money for. Don't promise **** in the hope we buy our season tickets and then fail on brining in players.

Reference season tickets I think the fans are wise now. Most will now wait to see if the club puts their money where there mouth is.
I doubt very much it will.

First off it's all smoke and mirrors, let's just dangle a virtual carrot and watch as the daft buggers buy it hook line and sinker. Well l agree that the majority are wising up.
Even if there was some true intent to strengthen ( which l doubt) it's one thing to have a list of targets, but another to persuade them to come to a club that now has such a stinking reputation. No ambition, no interest in cup runs, no interest in Europe, buy talent but sell it on is probably the only incentive left for players to use NUFC as a stepping stone cum shop window.
We do desperately need some concrete investment squad wise, but the problems go much deeper than throwing a few quid about.
