Maybe we will maybe we won't, but people making definite statements that he's all bad and will wreck our well run club is just pure daft. It's all guesswork. Given the mans eccentric streak, I'm not sure anyone has a clue what his plans are. As for replacing McD, you'd think he was the best manager we've ever had. There is no shortage of managers at least as capable
But you can't expect impeccable results the first season. It's a bonus if you get them. Building a team, and by team I mean a unit that understands each other and is greater than the sum of it's parts, takes longer than a season. Brendan Rogers at Liverpool and Nigel Pearson at Leicester are the most shining examples of what can happen if you give a manager time to build a well drilled team.
A) McDermott obviously believed it at the press conference B) I don't like Haigh or GFH or Bates I believe they are all bad for the club. I think McDermott is clueless and out of his depth and I think we are paying too much for too little when it comes to players wages, I have to agree with most if not all of what Cellino says. Couldn't have put it better myself We do not want to go into admin, the guy seems a bit of a nut case but he has hopefully the funds to put us on track, he certainly does not lack passion and he is never going to accept less than 100% and why should he if he is going to be writing the cheques - IF he gets the nod With Cellino we might own our ground, we might have some decent signings we might have a new manager every 6 months. If we do then it means we are not performing, if we don't then the manager is doing a good job. Without Cellino we might be in league one for a good few seasons with no money a succession of hit and hope managers who are expected to scrape the barrels building more dross for the next man in. Whoever we have in charge or as a coach IF Cellino gets in will certainly know what is expected of him as will any player that signs for us. If the current manager and squad were as passionate and hungry for success as Cellino then maybe we wouldn't be in such an awful position. If there was a genuine option B I would be all ears and open to genuine debate, I can't see one so I honestly believe we need Cellino at this moment in our history.
Agree with first part, and last sentence and believe McD will be out once we have a new owner. Don't think anyone claims your penultimate sentence though - more that he hasn't had a fair crack of the whip.
Clearly, which is why I want him to **** off and not come back. It's the entire reason I'm happy he's going to be declined, because he'll have no patience for managers and we'll just go nowhere for the rest of eternity.
Yes, the manager will know he's expected to never lose. You don't seem to understand that one bad result is all it will take to get a manager sacked and the club back to square one, as is what always happens when the manager is replaced. No manager should ever fear for his job after one bad result. No manager should ever fear for his job after one bad run of form. Consistently failing to live up to the expected standard over the course of 2-3 seasons is the only reason a manager should ever be sacked. Either that or he's done well for so many seasons and results suddenly go down the drain. The key point is that no manager should ever be sacked before he's had a chance to settle in because unsettled squads, unsettled teams, unsettled clubs never get anywhere. It's the same in any walk of life. I work in an office when the staff are constantly moving on and nothing ever gets done, it's terrible and won't ever change because those in charge don't care and can't see the wood for the trees.
IF Cellino gets in and sacks a manager after one bad result I will hold my hands up and say I am wrong. If he sacks a manager who has a run of results like we have had under McDermott I will cheer. I do see where you are coming from and I agree we need stability BUT McDermott is out of his depth, I don't need another season to see that. For me and I accept it is my opinion over yours he has done a bad job. Aside from what I believe or you believe about Cellino as being good or bad what are the alternatives? Administration?? Points deduction, losing Ross and Byram and any other player an offer comes in for, that is not stability. If we had news tomorrow that we were going to be sold to someone who could afford to run us in a correct and proper manner, Not another Haigh, GFH or Bates then I would say I hope Cellino doesn't get the nod but that white knight isn't going to happen.
How is he out of his depth? We were doing fine until this takeover bullshit started, then everyone started getting nervous and nerves are the enemy. Saying he's out of his depth is a typical response of someone who will only accept instant results and has the patience of a child. Clearly don't understand the concept of delayed gratification.
You mean like we are now? Give the man a chance ffs, he can't be any worse than the ****s we've had for the last ten years
We were doing poor before the takeover talk started, we were VERY lucky to be sitting in 5th spot IMHO and I feel the manager has made far too many bad decisions which have been expressed by myself and others far too many times. I accept you feel he needs more time and he is the right guy, I am not going to knock or call you for believing so, my opinion is different to yours so I will leave it at that Seriously - Please answer me one question, what do you believe will happen when/if Cellino gets turned down??
Famous last words again? I agree I can't see any future for Mcdermott once a sale goes through to anyone who can afford to pay him off, but there are no guarantees under any owner. We've seen it all before
Agreed Olof. It's becoming almost laughable. I swear I'm supporting a totally different club to others on this forum. The one I support, wins a game about every two months and is humiliated in every other game. Losing by hideous score lines to no hope mid table teams and worse. Yet the word stability gets fired around. Great, let's have stability when we eventually get the correct staff on board ie manager and players. I certainly don't want another two seasons or three of the present load of nonsense and can't see too many others do either
It's more a case Jonny of where does the blame not lie. Damn nearly anyone in the last ten years who have had contact with the club have done some measure of harm. I would say Grayson can hold his head up high and also Poyet but that's about it
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/255551-Anyone-still-have-faith-in-McDermott large majority have lost faith in the manager 63% although I am surprised it isn't more.
Bates out McAllister out Grayson out Warnock out GFH out McDermott out Harvey out Those titles have appeared countless times on various Leeds forums.
Out of a sample of 38!!! Do you have any idea of the statistical validity of such a huge sample when the population is tens of thousands?
