The fact they put it on the OS was the most interesting thing about it. I think Guly is seen as a decent back up...why buy one when you have one. It keeps money free for a few top quality signings.
Guly's situation has never been as bad as Puncheon's was. Puncheon was sent out on loan, slagged off Cortese, had his manager say that he hoped he'd gone, and camping outside QPR on transfer deadline praying for a deal. Lazarus had a better chance than Punch.
I thought he was given a 1yr contract last year, to see how well he coped with the prem? Do you have a reference for that interview in brazil? I think he still has a role to play depending on who we bring in this summer. I agree playing wide doesn't suite him- haven't seen any of those lovely flick-on's he used to do with Lambert.
Guly has always had the problem that he is never played in his favourite position. To get the best out of him, he should play just behind Lambert, but, because of tactics or competition for places, he is often played wide. He is to be commended for coping with that and being selected by NA and MP reasonably regularly.
