Wilshere has been brilliant this season hasn't he?

Obviously depends on if he returns. I heard he was due back this week? If he still isn't fit in the next few weeks then I'd have to reconsider. I'd have to be sure though. The lad is absolutely immense when he pulls on an England shirt. If he can stay fit he is an absolute shoe-in for the team IMO.

I think he's being genuine Chilcs....

And to be fair to him Wilshere was good during our qualifying campaign, I had doubts though about him playing that deep role against the top teams but injury (in true Jack Wilshere style!) ruined that. Probably too late now unless he does come back fit and straight into form.

I'm not his biggest fan but I'd rather have a fit Wilshere on the pitch than Milner/Hendo

It's appalling TSS. Are there any petitions anywhere? Maybe we should be vocalising this a little louder with our FA and pushing them to work FIFA. There's a new president. Let's see how keen he is to 'clean it up'

I don't know about petitions, but I one could be started. I feel that football fans ought to be taking a lead on this by condemning it very loudly. It's all too easy to turn the other way and forget.

The treatment of immigrant workers in some Arab countries is appalling. The death toll amongst workers building the stadia and infrastructure would have stopped all work years ago in any European country and a public enquiry would be demanded. People being worked to death and unable to leave is slavery.

And often it's the case that these people have left their countries to find a stable wage in order to send it back. This is a dreadful situation. They're probably not educated enough or have enough money put by to become desperate migrants. They're trying to work and they're treated as slaves.

I sit here in my reasonably comfortable house and I know that ultimately we're responsible for this, because we let it go on. Those people are slaves because people like me want to watch sport. It's not good enough.

FIFA should have insisted on being heavily involved in worker welfare with frequent visits. They have looked into it and been reassured and gone away....did they actually go anywhere near the workers. This could have been an opportunity to do good as this slavery has been going on before they got the WC.

They make it very hard for some Europeans to get paid or leave...if they do this to Europeans, you can only imagine how they treat illiterate workers from countries that won't defend their citizens.

By accepting the massive bribes from the Qatari government, as seems likely, FIFA made themselves party to the barbaric treatment of the immigrant workers. That's why none of this has been publicised by FIFA, and why nothing has been done to improve the lot of the workers. I wouldn't hold out too much hope that FIFA will take action on behalf of these people, so it's basically down to every football fan to make our voices heard. Perhaps a petition to the UK government to get this matter debated in Parliament?
