Great little documentary. I recommend you watch it. Documents the struggle of football in Australia and why November the 16th is so memorable.

I was just gong to suggest the same thing. I may even email the FA and suggest they print the words off and put them on every seat. What a great show of support that would be if the world saw 80,000 Engalnd fans singing the Marseillaise!
May sound facetious in the circumstances, but, hearing what football fans can do to a simple football chant, I can only imagine what they'd do to the Marseillaise.

Wonderful as it would be, I have to agree. Perhaps they could just hum the tune? Anyway, time should be allowed for a minute's applause after the Marseillaise and before GSTQ. Then a minute's silence before kickoff.

Looks like your e-mail has been answered and the words will be put up on the big screen.(Instead of FLTs low tech suggestion :emoticon-0105-wink:)

The England-France came ought to have been called off. Poor decision.

Sometimes there is no right or wrong answer.

Saints 7th again. I'm assuming this is full internationals so our u21's don't count.

Not sure if it had happened in a game previously, but I noted against Bournemouth that our starting eleven were all senior internationals and current ones at that.

Steklenberg, Cedric, Fonte, VVD, Bertrand, Davis, Wanyama, Clasie, Tadic, Mane, Pelle.

I assume this would have happened for the first time in the clubs history last season(Once Fonte finally got called up), but a nice milestone

Not sure the words of the Marseillaise are exactly appropriate for this situation...they seem to be condoning violence. Their revolution was called the Terror for a reason. I am surprised that the French haven't updated the words by now to reflect modern sensibilities. Perhaps people should just hum along.

Sounds pretty relevant to me ........ "Listen to the sound in the fields. The howling of these fearsome soldiers. They are coming into our midst to cut the throats of your sons and consorts .........."
"Drive on sacred patriotism, Support our avenging arms. Liberty, cherished liberty, join the struggle with your defenders. Under our flags, let victory hurry to your manly tone. So that in death your enemies see your triumph and our glory!"

Mind you - that sounds a bit like the way the ISIS "martyrs" seem to think ...........
