Normally I can't be arsed with us having that discussion (again!) But I've just started a night shift so indulge
I'm a bit worried that I can't pull my get out of jail free card now in the World Cup if Italy don't make it. Served me well since I was born...Italy have actually won two World Cups in that time. Ah well, England will have to win it now
You could always support someone different. Mexico!!! I am not Mexican but I just want to support them as it is a country with a big population of over 100m, has considerable social and economic problems and in the sporting world rarely gets success. The UK on the other hand gets plenty of sporting success so I feel no need to support England when it comes to football.
Cork gets his cap! I would be surprised if he gets another. I can spot a decent player! Interestingly if there had been League games today not a single big name ex-Saint would be starting albeit for a variety of reasons: Morgan, Lallana, Shaw, Lovren, Clyne, Lambert, Fonte, Mane (maybe), Bale, Ox, Walcott, Wanyama.
I don't support any team I have no tangible connection with. What's the point.? Supporting England or Italy, or any football team is remote enough. It's not as if they'd give a toss if you said you weren't going to do it anymore.
Dear BBC before you write that Serbia U21s lost 8-0 to Austria please check the score (3-1 to Serbia). Who can I sue for my black eye? it's still on the results page: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/scores-fixtures/2017-11-10 Austria U21 8 Serbia U21 0 Wales U21 0 Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 4 I've checked the Wales score and yes they did lose 4-0 to Bosnia!
Having dominated for 90 minutes without being able to find a way through, Italy succumbed to a sucker punch. Remind you of anything (Buffon not in any way to blame, but apart from that...)?
I'm currently in Rome, watched the game on Italian tv last night. When the commentator kept saying "immobile", I thought he was talking about the lack of movement up top. Took a while before I remembered they have a striker named that!
The All Whites ground out a hardfought 0-0 against Peru yesterday. Cue NZ scratching their collective Rugby head. How can 0-0 be exciting? Why do they fall over all the time? How can they be good if they don't score? Its like a national insecurity over here to even contemplate that there is a ball sport other than Rugby. Let alone that Rugby is a global minnow. Well done to the All Whites tho, would have been easy to get rolled over, English coach Anthony Hudson done a good job with the squad he has. I'd be stoked to see NZ getting world cup qualifying again.
