The G3 Prix de la Ville de Caen was run yesterday over the longest course in European Trotting, 4400m. The defending Champion Bugsy Malone had to spot some of them 50m if he was to get the job done and score win number 32. The big, bold striding horse worked his way to the front and cut a dashing figure in transit. He got the wobbles at the end but it was a big effort off 50m. No 18, second horse from the far right ant the back. White maroon sleeves and cap. https://www.letrot.com/fr/replay-courses/2020-10-17/1400/8
The final leg of Japan's Fillies Triple Crown, the G1 Shuka Sho. 2000m. NO 13. Light blue, yellow cap.
The richest and most prestigious steeple chase race in France, G1 Grand Steeple-Chase De Paris, run over 6000m at Auteuil yesterday. The race went to Docteur de Ballon. A huge win. No4, maroon and white stripes. He settles last.
The $1,000,000 G1 Manikato Stakes just run at Moonee Valley. The winner Hey Doc who won the face in 2017, tonight took his earnings to over $3,000,000. A nice return on the $85,000 they paid for him as a yearling.
Even at the ripe old age of 51, why wouldn't anyone put Glen Boss on their horse? He has more than 70 G1 wins to his name. 2020 Cox Plate. Sir Dragonet. No7, from gate 6. Black and white.
I hope these replays will load in the UK. Scroll down to Raceday Review. 20.13. The Valley. https://www.racing.com/replays/#/replay-hub

Germany's Andreas Wohler has given himself a chance to win a second Melbourne Cup next Tuesday. Today, Ashrun won the G3 Hotham over the 2500m trip at Flemington and in the process, leapt his way up the order of merit. Ashrun will be bidding to become the first horse since 2009 to take out the Hotham - Cup double. Kerrin McEvoy who rode him today, won't be on him though, he takes the sit on the favourite Tiger Moth owned by Mrs J Magnier, M Tabor & D Smith.

Melbourne Cup and the US Presidential Election on the same day - does it get any bigger? Yes it does - racing at Southwell with three - count them THREE - 5F sprints. Nass will be in heaven
In this race draw is very important and he has had very bad luck (23). In 2015 I had a bet on Big Orange 66/1 e/w, he also had the draw 23, he made a great race and was fifth. The first three that year had the draw 1, 2 and 4. I am sure that if Big Orange had come out of a draw between 1-8 he would have won the race. This year I have a longshot, Warning 33/1 e/w (small bet).
There's no doubt that 23 isn't where you want to be drawn, but last years winner came from 21. And there's a long run to the first corner. The world didn't take long to realize that Northern Hemisphere three year old colts are well suited to this race. Again another plus for Tiger Moth. And the odds on offer are pretty attractive. As for my thinking on the race, I'm struggling. One horse who loves the track and distance, and who ran a great lead up race, was the experienced Prince of Arran who's drawn the inside. His age is against him though. Verry Elleegant looks a live chance too. But the race is wide open. I won't be betting on the race, but I think Prince Of Arran will run a bold race again. It's cheating to put in five but here goes. *PRINCE OF ARRAN. 10-1.* TIGER MOTH. 6-1. SURPRISE BABY 8-1. VERRY ELLEEGANT. 10-1. MASTER OF REALITY. 25-1. Good luck to those intrepid souls taking a punt.
