Thanks Cyc. What a way to go out. Don't get prize money like that here. I thought he was a great bet at 4/5 and he went off at Evs. No BOG on ante post in the comp

The 1986 Arc. Dancing Brave. He settles well back and at the two furlong pole, he's third last. His trainer, Guy Harwood admitted that he though too much to do. He said. "Then, all of a sudden, they were there with that stunning burst of speed. It was almost like an explosion.'' He's trapped wide, near the rear just after the start.

Jorge Ricardo has just notched his 12844th winner to equal the record held by Canadian Russell Baze. The 56 year old has been at it for 41 years. Makes McCoy's 4300+ winner return from his 20+year career look a bit lightweight. Granted the Brazilian has never had to sling a low grade reluctant plodder at a 5 foot fence but it's some milestone. Huge congrats to Jorge <applause>.

He's had one hell of a career all right. He estimates that he's ridden about 70,000 races for those 12,844 wins and won the premiership in Brazil 26 years in a row. Then you can tack on 160 G1 wins. A wonderful career. I think the clip below was his latest G1 win, it came in November last year. He's in the Grey and Black and jumps from the 11 gate.

Being an Englishman, Sir Gordon Richards might not be an international sportsman to most of you guys, but he is to me. :)

The noise of the crowd really brings something extra special to this finish. Watch them in the background too as Dessie crosses the line.

The mighty Kiwi pacer Lazarus in winning the Hunter Cup, takes his G1 victories to 15.

The ad in the video is a pain though.

The Queenslander, "Colt Thirty One," travels South to take on the so called big boys in the G1 Victoria Derby. He's in the black and white checks. :)

A classy field has been brought together at Vincennes this afternoon for the running of the E300,000 G1 Grand Prix de France. Bold Eagle, Propulsion, Belina Josselyn, Briac Dark, Billie DeMontfort and the crack youngster Traders, among others will make for a cracking race.

The Grand Prix de France was a cracker. Bold Eagle (No 8) was give every chance but was collared right on the line by the wonderful mare Belina Josselyn. Propulsion (No 4) was just beaten in a three way photo. Belina Josselyn (No3) is in the all blue with yellow arm band and cap.

Last Friday the champion pacer Lazarus went to WA to contest the G1 Freemantle Cup. He was trapped three deep for the whole trip. The winner, My Hard Copy is a renowned sit and sprint horse. He took full advantage of the torrid run by Lazarus and ran him down in the shadows of the post. It's remarkable that the champ got so close, considering the amount of extra fuel he burned in the run, especially as My Hard Copy ran a track record in winning. The winner is in blue and yellow comes off the back of Lazarus. The champ again goes around next Friday, in the G1 WA Pacing Cup.

What an honest old horse Hartnell is. Last Saturday he had his first run since the 3200m Melbourne cup. He was entered for the G1 C. F. Orr Stakes over the 1400m trip at Caulfield. In winning, Hartnell took his prize money to AU$4,763,499. He's in the Godolphin blue. No 1.

Every season a boom horse arrives on the scene, our latest is a Snitzel bred called Redzel. Actually he's been doing his thing for two years, and in that time he's managed to collect a handy AU$7,797,750 in stakes. Tomorrow he'll be looking to add another Group 1 victory to his already impressive resume. His target is the Black Caviar Lightning over the 1000m straight trip at Flemington. He's hasn't been seen in three months, so I'm looking forward to his reappearance. Between them, the field has amassed better than 17 million, so he won't have it all his own way.

Redzel came unstuck in the Lightning today. He had the run of the race but was mowed down by the talented Redkirk Warrior. It was a monster of a win too as he was last and checked with a furlong and a half to go. Redzel is in the red and Redkirk Warrior is in the blue and white with red cap.
