They are saying on ITV that Theo Walcott needs coaching and has been fast tracked too soon. We've said stuff like that before about youngsters who leave us too early.
They usually have the decency to let us sign a youngster...this time they've come in for Slattery right after we potty trained him. These youngsters never learn and they go backwards at Arsenal.
Used to amuse me when I first heard him say it. It's because Wright played in Hoddle's England team, and he just has great respect for the bloke.
It's often been said of Walcott in the past that he doesn't have a football brain. He did come to football quite late, if I remember correctly. Of all the Saints starlets I absolutely think he left Southampton too soon.
Hoddle has a little bit of the "keegan syndrome" about him. Some generations only know him as a 50 odd year old bloke in the television, who still sports his 80's hairstyle and was England manager until he brought his believes out into the open. They may even remember a brief stint as Saints coach, but then a failed Spurs and Wolves coach. Not everyone is aware that he was the most gifted player of his generation and an absolute top, top draw player. A creative midfield player that was miles ahead of any other of his generation and one that an England manager should have built a team around..... a bit like someone else we knowi of down our way. I only call it the keegan syndrome because I think King Kev's management faux pas often stand out above his brilliance as a player.
You know we often have this club v country debate? Well, this is definitely the first time I've jumped out of my seat clapping when an Italian centre forward has scored against England. It was 5 minutes later when I suddenly though, oops, where was Clyne in trying to stop the cross!
Cape Verde Islands beat Portugal 2-0. Just been pointed out on Sky that they are not the minnows you might think...they have qualified for last 2 African Cup of Nations and are ranked between Wales and Scotland on the FIFA table. OK, that last bit may make them sound like minnows , but they are not San Marino. England U19s failed to qualify for U19 Championships after losing to France....shame as I thought they were quite a strong team, though they have now lost Targett and Chambers who played until recently.
4-4-2 think that both Clyne and Bertrand would go to the Euro's if the plane left tomorrow: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features...glands-movers-and-losers-international-pause?
