He had to face Brede Hangeland who played the final 10 minutes as centre forward as Norway tried to get back from a 2-0 deficit but the Swiss held on. Alex Kacaniklic played the full 90 as Sweden earned a good win 1-0 against Kazachstan thanks to a goal by Ibrahimovic in the first minute. Giorgis Karagounis came on 15 minutes from the end as Greece beat Latvia 1-0. It was fiesty in those final minutes with a player from each side being sent off but Kara came through unscathed.
