Got the win, all that mattered. Apparently Costa Rica felt aggrieved by the conditions and all I can say is ...... **** them! <laugh> Anytime we go down to any of those nations bar Mexico, the fields are ****, hardly any lighting, shoddy refs, they swarm the hotels and basically party outside the rooms to keep the team awake ( pull fire alarms, etc), Throw piss and feces at the players. **** em. <laugh>

It was not a beautiful game to watch!

Weather got worse in the second half too! The Costa Ricans had a chance to stop the game in the second half, but didn't take it. Probably because at that point in time they looked like the better team. Now they lost and its not fair they had to play in the snow.

I've always wondered how they got their piss and feces. Do they fill up their bottles before hand? Does someone sell it at the stadium? Or is it something they do right there in the stands?

  12. I would imagine its the later, certainly is when it comes to concerts and flying piss bomb bottles <doh>

Given the food, I'd say it's readily available at a moments notice, it's probably throw it or drown<laugh>

It's all great for big teams and nations to say something like this, but if your only reasoning is that it's an "inconvenience" to play them, it's selfish. My Serbian club, Partizan, used to be a lot bigger in Europe. Hell, our best European memories are leading at half-time in the 1966 European Cup Final, kicking Celtic out 5-4 later on, beating QPR 6-6 (on aggregate), etc. Even in 2003 we picked up draws against Porto, Real Madrid and Marseille. Now who are we?

We're bloody no-one. We go through 4 rounds of qualifying (3 only now thankfully, since we are "seeded".) By the time we get to the play-off spot, we face regional opposition who are our strength. If they're from a richer country, we're ****ed. How can we compete with Belgians or western European teams? Not only that but when we get to Europe, we've already surpassed our expectations and there's no motivation to go further. By the way, we are Champions. We've won the league. And we get placed at the bottom of the ladder anyway, while your fourth placed team gets a better position. Now sure, it makes it more attractive. But much less fair for smaller teams. When we talk about oil money, people are against elitism and unfair practices against smaller clubs - but when it comes to rankings, no one minds.

Now imagine if that happened on the international scene? You get a break because you're better and we have to work harder to get the privilege of losing to you? Hardly fair is it? We're crap enough as it is. San Marino and the Faroe Islands might be crap, but imagine it from their perspective. They can't face each other, there's not nearly enough of them. Everyone else they can face is light years ahead. So what inconvenience is it to us as fans to have to wait a few weeks for qualifiers and go back to our football next weekend?

Now alright, San Marino and the Faroe Islands, and Lichtenstein or whatever would be ok with it, but the next rank up, the Albania's, Greece's, Serbia's, Norway's of the world would hate it. It would destroy our football.

I'd dislike them because my country isn't officially recognized by UEFA or FIFA, so I'd whinge about it if it stopped my club from playing which is doesn't because we're 3rd div.

Like JK I dont really care if the likes of San Marino can play or not

    BUT

Like JK, I think the international fixture list is embarressing,we have int breaks about 6/7 times a season, there should be ONE, maximum two.England in there WCQ group have to play 10 games over 2 yrs, chuck in say 2 friendlies thats 12 games in 2 yrs.Once a season there should be ONE 3 or 4 week int break, where the int teams plays 6/7 games all together, if the team picks up a minor injury, its the int team that suffers not the club side, and there is less disruption

But all the leagues across each region have to agree on league breaks for int duty and that comes with a host of other considerations which are different from country to country, basically with the CL, you cant ****ing have your cake and eat it, stop moaning you ****s<laugh>

Scrap the CL bring back the EC and you'll have all the time you need for international football and it will mean more too, which do you want? No one want sot give up the CL, I suspect it will be expanded at some point in the future making international football even more obscure

San Marino has a population of 31,000. Probably half are men and less than half like football. Giving them the time of day to even take part in a preliminary round system would be a great opportunity for them.

San Marino are not only as bad an international football team as you will ever set eyes on, they offer the added bonus of not being nasty or cynical enough to try to make up for their inferiority by kicking opponents. You are in not the slightest football or physical danger. If there is a free ride in a World Cup qualifier, then it is San Marino.

Not only is the arrogance annoying by the media but also now SM are being slated for not being dirty and making bad tackles and trying to spoiling the game with poxy gamesmanship tactics.

I remember the opposite in one of the previous encounters saying they were slated as being cynical now it's the opposite, they are getting stick for not being cynical<doh>
