The roof's fallen in now.
There's a gulf in class between the teams, but for 45 minutes England struggled, could/should have conceded two penalties and the best player on the park was Irelands Ebosele.
2nd half, Ireland appeared to turn into Spurs against Brighton! <laugh> The sending off was the icing on the cake for England.

When teams tire and space opens up, the better teams take advantage. I don’t think England have the X factor needed to blow these teams away, but the extra quality does prevail in the end.

Who's training at Spurs during the international break?

Maddison, Werner, Reguilon, Spence, a handful of goalkeepers and about four kids.
Must feel weird for virtually all of them.

BBC is running a live debate in their comments section (3 hours and going) re if Kane is the right man for England.

The ease with which people disrespect him and his achievements is astonishing, and goes some distance to explain why this country never wins anything. We have the most bizarre fetish with tearing down greatness wherever and whenever it appears.

Madness. I heard them saying it’s time for Watkins to become Englands main man.

Watkins is decent and I’d take him at Spurs but he’s no Harry Kane.

Tuchel knows Kane well anyway so no danger of him being dropped.
