What a stupid time to play 4 competitive international fixtures in quick succession, at the end of a rigorous season when all the players are knackered and would clearly rather be on their holidays. Most of them were already on the beach mentally, and it showed.
It’s meant to be an upgrade on meaningless friendlies
But it’s proved to be as entertaining as ITV’s daytime programmes- without the chance to waste your money to try to win a Range Rover

At least with pointless friendlies, they could cherry pick easy games for this end of season period.

To think the likes of Kane and co have had to play 4 games when they could have been on holiday for a much needed rest is ridiculous. Next season will be here before we know and there is a World Cup right in the middle of it.

I'm not defending Southgate, but the players should do better regardless of the manager.
Losing 4-0 at home to Hungary? Worst home defeat in nearly a century? Pathetic.
Have some pride, even if it is in some ****ty tournament.

Ryan Giggs has quit as Wales manager. Good. Twat.
I hope that they give it to the man who took over in his absence, Robert Page.
He may not have much of a CV, but he's done very well for them.

Given the FAW's track record of giving the job to people who don't turn up, they're surely preparing a contract for Aaron Ramsey to take over

No doubt they will officially give it to Page as he has been de facto manager for a long while now - and done well Done incredibly well.
The problem for Giggs is that whether he’s guilty or innocent, culpable in some way or not, he’s been off the scene for so long, with his reputation damaged regardless, that he’s no longer the best man for the job - if he ever was.

The fact his face was bigger than anyone else's in the squad announcement tweets certainly drew comment, too

Finished 2-1 after going behind early to a penalty.
Italy started with Milan youth player Marco Nasti up front! <laugh>
