"The Premier League has now received legally binding assurances that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United Football Club."

So what happens if the entire squad gets Covid when out there? Postponement, or docked points for making it hard for the Premier League to deny taking backhanders?

Technically he kicked a ball(s)...
Sounds like your usual South American ****fest, unfortunately. Very mean spirited.
Ecuador's keeper got sent off for going all Karate Kid:

Emerson followed with his own Cobra Kai sweeping of the balls, then Alisson got a red:

That was turned into a yellow after the VAR review. Looks like the player runs into it, to me.

It's the combination of South American, Asian and North American qualifiers coupled with the AFCoN

For example, in our case we'd be down Son, Romero, Emerson, Sanchez and Lo Celso, which Arsenal would consider to be the same as a Black Death outbreak
Thanks.

They have to look at the whiole international v league game thing because it's seriously messing up the season. What is this the 3rd break this season ?

Weird thing is cricfree have it down as 11.30 start too but the games is showing <laugh>

Yeah definitely mixed listings between 6 and 6:30pm here.

Venezuela have a player who looks about 12, and Salomon Rondon, who I forgot was even playing.

Pellistri (same one who is in loan from United I think?) just did a madness for Uruguay’s second goal. Will post it if I find it. Lovely dribbling.

It’s been a scrappy but entertaining half that ends with Uruguay cruising 3-0 up. Every goal has seen a moment of quality - Bentancur’s half volley from the edge of the box, Pellistri’s run to set up the second, and the third was, of all things, a Cavani overhead kick after a bit of bouncing ball activity in the Venezuela box.

It’s been a direct game that Uruguay have dominated, a lot of play bypasses the midfield a bit but there’s been one or two nice moments. Bentancur produced the other moment of quality away from the goals, with a driving run from midfield resulting in a low, swerving shot from which Suarez almost turned in the rebound.

Our lad is playing in a midfield 2 with Fede Valverde, in what basically amounts to a 442. I have heard it said that playing in a 2 doesn’t do him the most favours and that he prefers a 3. But him and Valverde both seem quite balanced, versatile midfielders, so it seems to work with this style of football.

Hoping for another 3 goals and an overhead kick in the second half, it’s been a fun watch. But if ****housery too, as you’d expect from a Uruguay team with Suarez in it.
