From matchday 1 they’ve impressed me, were probably second best tonight in what was a very decent game but this is a seriously good Italian side.

Hopefully we get the chance to do ‘em though.

It’s a funny one. I think Italy are the better side but I think Spain play a game that is more likely to wind England up and potentially get a player sent off. So on balance I’d rather play the better side who I think England match up better to.

Denmark tomorrow will be a massive game though make no mistake. They’ll be fired the hell up and are a very strong tournament side. Getting past them will be no mean feat.

I’m honestly not sure who I’d have rather potentially have faced, I think both are likely to control possession against England.

Yeah Denmark aren’t mugs and I think they’ve been spurred on via the Eriksen trauma, it’s given them a level of motivation no other side in the tournament could match.

Pickford guaranteed Golden Glove <applause>

Well deserved, he’s been great for England, weird too as he’s bang average for Everton, not that I’m complaining.

Yeah they’re both good sides don’t get me wrong. And Spain do lack a bit of cutting edge. But watching them control and ball and pick even Italy apart at times was scary. The Italians have been so good in every area this tournament so neither are ideal lol.

Pickford is just one of those players who seems to step it up for England. He’s justified Southgate’s faith in him over the years, and long may it continue.

Three teams remain,

Denmark and Italy both tough but beatable. There’s no reason not to believe in this England side.

It’s coming home
