England look awful going forward which is what they call it when in fact they are going backward. Just to clarify they look awful going backward as well.

Thought Mount wasn't very good until he scored. Thought Rashford was awful apart from the pen and one good through ball to Rice (which he mucked up the return). Is Rashford like Sterling in that it is not permitted to criticise him?

Southgate is unquestionably a very lucky manager, picks terrible sides but wins matches on a regular basis - Belgium much the better side missed so many chances but no one really stood out for us - Declan Rice was probably our best player very tidy in possession and strong in the tackle all the things Dier used to be.

Tripps and Walks played Ok too

It's a shame we won with such an unadventurous selection and in the end it will do harm to the potential of the team. Maybe we need a player moment like the 1990 World Cup when Bobby Robson gave them their head. Belgium were part of that story too.

The good news here for :

- Spurs is that Gary may not start the next game with Kane

- Gary is there is far less pressure now if Eriksen turns up in Spurs 2015-17 vintage

As in late undeserved winner that would have been missed 9 times out of 10.

Fantastic assist from Hojbjerg to Erisken for Denmark's 2nd goal. Should clearly be disallowed, though.

Game should have been abandoned and tie awarded to
Iceland when it went 1-0, as Denmark fielded an Eriksen imposter
(the real one does not clear the defence and find his own
player from a corner kick) .
