So finally the player pundits see what is happening instead of just supporting their mate Gareth

Same issues as last game. Trent in midfield is Southgate trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. He’s too passive and doesn’t set the tempo and try and get into spaces to receive the ball.

Denmark play with wingbacks and quite a narrow back 3, so we need the wingers and fullbacks to threaten those channels. It’s not happening on the left because of the players on that side and it’s not really happening on the right because we’re so stodgy in midfield that Saka is coming inside to try and offer an option so unless Walker gets forward there’s no threat.

Southgate is making a rod for his own back here. Needs to drop a couple of the golden geese.

Southgate needs to make a change. That was horrible to watch. No control in midfield and too open at the back especially on the flanks.

The pundits are trying to blame Kane, like he's incapable of pressing.
The whole team has been told not to do it. It's Southgate's tactics.
    Awful analysis.

They should be playing to his strengths, as Southgate has done with success his entire time as England manager. Instead they’ve pinned one of their most creative players to the opposition CBs with a goal scorer, not an out and out creative 10, behind him.

Southgate has to give Kane more opportunity to roam with Bellingham behind and width and pace either side, or drop Jude deeper with Foden behind Kane if you’re going to keep him high.

Need to go a back 3 play Trippier at RWB and Saka on the left and bring on Eze for Trent.

I've enjoyed Andros Townsend on ITV, though. He's had a decent start to his media career.

I’m impressed some of yous genuinely think personnel or formation changes will make much of a difference.

The tactics (lack of them) is what will always hinder us, we’re what, 8 years into Southgate-ball(?) and we don’t have an identifiable style of play other than nervy, plucky, sleep-inducing football.

The quality of personnel has improved over the years yet the football hasn’t… if that isn’t a wake up call for the FA then nothing will be.

I’d take a risk and take Foden and Trent off and bring on Gordon and Wharton

He’s gonna have to take risks this tournament or this will definitely be his last one as England manager (imo he should step down even if they win the whole thing anyway)

The Danish kit typeface makes it look like they've got a player called Wino. I like it. <ok>

It's sometimes difficult to interpret a picture when you're standing right in front of it.

Watching Rio Ferdinand's comments about the 'golden generation' and their relative failures and it was abundantly clear that he just couldn't fathom how playing Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes in the same midfield might not have been the best idea. He saw the failure as coming despite their presence, not because of it.

EDIT: He's just suggested that swapping Watkins for Kane will solve England's problems, so I take it back. The man is just a simpleton.
