Englands 2nd string trying to play there way out of the squad at the moment - Eze aside there have been very few highlights and Bowen and TAA totally anonymous
Strange selections.
Not sure what the point of giving practice to players who are unlikely to make the first XI is - or picking them en masse when they have never played together as a team and are never likely to do so again.
I get it that some first choice players need rest after recent games at the end of a long season, but playing a B team seems to defeat the object.
Maybe some regulars will get the second half.

Harry's passing is immense

Criminally underrated part of his game and I felt that Tuchel didn't utilise it well enough, usually playing Kane in the same interpretation of the role as Lewandowski defined it.

His ability to dictate play is why I think even when his legs start to go a bit as he gets into his 30s, he'll just drop deeper and carry on playing for years.

Saw a tweet last night that brilliantly described Wharton:

He’s not English, he’s from 2010 Spain.

It’s unreal how good he looks, has to be on the plane for me. I was all for us signing him in January, especially over Vermeeren who was also linked but I wasn’t expecting him to be as good as he’s been so quickly. Palace have got themselves a potential world class baller. Everything he does is with class, doesn’t seem to put a foot wrong either. Could be England’s answer to a Busquets - and without the theatrics too!

Yeah he’s gotta be on the plane and I think he’ll be a nailed on starter by the end of the group stage, or before if Southgate has any sense. He’s the kind of player we lack and that is absolutely needed at International level. The tempo setter who can help you retain the ball and move it quickly and with purpose. Allows Rice to play a bit further forward too and use his ball carrying and presence in and around the box to make an impact. That’s going to be important as I imagine we’ll see Bellingham going beyond Kane a far bit, similar to how he used to work with Dele.

You’ll laugh particularly DH but England haven’t had a player like Wharton since Harry Winks was in the side and actually good. Wharton could be a real gem though. Palace did well to snap him up.

He just oozes class in everything he does, it’s rare to see that level of quality and composure for a player so inexperienced.

It’s obviously still early doors but he just looks destined to go to the very top. Silky deep lying midfielders seem to be a dying breed nowadays but he could be a rare revival of it.

The amount of talent England’s knocking out now, it’s actually criminal Southgate’s managed to **** it all up in these tournaments. Wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves Wharton at home.

Harry's range of passing is up there with KDB, both feet, the vision to see a pass and the ability to play it inch perfect is rare these days.

I've said it before (so apologies if you're reading it again) but had Harry gone to Citeh, then Fraudiola would have got credit for developing this aspect of Harry's game (because as you know the pundits love to credit Pep wherever possible) - you know, the way he developed Grealish and Phillips.
