I was bemused by the order and who took them to be honest.

why do players insist on these dodgy run ups? (Jorginho included).

****ing awful.

Nor sure if they 'insist' on it tbh. Other than players like Jorginho who do it every time, whenever a player does the stuttered or paused run up, I read it as a sure sign of nerves more than a method.

Honestly, both teams took some pretty poor penalties in that shootout as (Maguire excepted) so many were at the sort of height and placement that, if the keeper dived the right way, they were likely to get something on it

My immediate thought when Rashford missed was hoping the Mail, Express and their ilk don't use it as an excuse to go for him like they've been desperate to do for over a year. Yes, he looked a pillock for missing after reenacting The House of Flying Daggers in his run up, but that doesn't diminish any of the work he's done in the last year

But the real question is this: when does our training ground get its winner's medal?

Sorry to say it again, but as soon as we play a team who can hold on to the ball in midfield and control possession, we’re in trouble. Going forward we need to produce players In that area otherwise we will always be found out against the better teams. Had we taken advantage of our pace and energy in the first half hour and gone 2-0 up, it might have been different. But once possession was surrendered and rarely regained, it was relentless pressure that was hard to resist.
