The season is about to start, so it's time for you to make your predictions for this year's interforum league! :D
Not606 have won the league twice before (in 2012 and 2011), and last year finished second.
There will also be the usual side competitions of individual champion (for most points scored on zdkf1), 6 tenths award (for most league points scored), Bernie medal (for most victories), and quali trophy (for best pole time predictor).

If you are late joining, don't worry, you will get some points for each race you missed (usually 20), and you can still help the forum in the league.

How to play:
  • Register on zdkf1and start your nickname with “not606”. (If you forget, please edit your nickname here.)
  • Add the other entrants whose nicknames start with not606” as your friends.
  • Predict the pole position, pole time and top 10 finishers for each race.
  • The prediction deadline is 10pm (GMT) on the Thursday before each race (except Monaco).
  • How the scoring works on zdkf1

There's one week until the prediction deadline for the first race. Driver classifications should be added to the website shortly.

Good luck everyone!

I got my email from that dutch kiwi guy the other day. Looking forward to this year!! Lets win back our crown <ok>

Im going to fill in each race now to make sure I don't miss a race. I think it cost me a bit missing a race last year as I was close to the top guys!

Lets win our crown back!

I'm hoping that Pob is running the highly enjoyable inter-forum prediction league again this year via http://www.zdkf1.com/ and so I'm starting the thread now. Either way we can compete against each other and hopefully other forums.

For those unaware were the number 1 forum for 2011 and 2012, but last year we fell to 2nd :(
This cannot stand so let get the crown back :D

Every prediction helps, and you can join at any time so why not get involved!

Guide/Rules
  • Sign up at http://www.zdkf1.com/. Don't forget your nickname will need to start with "Not606". Mine for example is Not606_BLS
  • Predictions must be made by 10pm on the Thursday (Wed for Monaco) before a race, up to this point your free to change them
  • You predict:
    Who will get Pole Position?
What will the Pole Position Time be?
Who will finish 1st to 10th in the Race?
  • It's a risk game so the riskier the prediction (Chilton to come 3rd etc.) the higher the score (if you're right).
  • I usually predict well in advance so I don't miss the deadline and then modify the predictions when news and form becomes apperent
How to score
  1. "Pole Position" can gain you points if your selected driver gains Pole or the other front row slot
  2. "Pole Position Time" can get you points if you are within 0.25% or 1% of the actual Pole Time set
  3. You can also get points for being the "Nearest Competitor" to the actual Pole time for each Grand Prix
  4. For the Race itself you can score "Spot-On" points for drivers (they finish bang on the position you predicted)
  5. "+/- 1 Position" Points (they finish 1 position either side of where you predicted)
  6. "+/- 2 Positions" Points (they finish 2 position either side of where you predicted)
  7. "Bonus Points" (how many of your 10 drivers actually finished in the Top 10)
Forum scoring
  • Points given out on current F1 scoring system (25-18-15...)
  • Only the top two scores from each forum count

So this year is going to be really difficult to predict, especially qualifying times. Last year's qualifying at Australia was wet, but the 2013 cars were at least half a second faster than the 2012 cars. This year's cars are rumoured to be up to 2 seconds slower than last year, but I'd doubt it would be that much, and they're going to get faster over the course of the season, but they'll always be about three-quarters of a second slower because the tyres are harder this year.

Now I know how hard it is for the teams!

Got my email too... gonna opt for the cars being 2-1.5 sec down on the times from 2012..
Time difference will most likely down to the fact that they had Super Softs in 2012 but only Softs and Meds this year, that should be a time difference of at least .4 second a lap.
At the start of the year, the cars will most likely be at least 1-1.5 seconds slower, may not be much slower come mid season though!
Hard to look past either of the Mercedes boys taking pole, also, the Merc powered teams, as well as being the quickest appear to be the most reliable, could be Merc powered dominated top 10..

I've made my predictions.

Hamilton pole (1:28.3), Alonso win. Top 10 being 7 Mercedes powered cars and 3 Ferrari powered cars (Hamilton to DNF, Bianchi to score a point).

I'm as ready as I'll ever be.

Pole: Hamilton - 1:27.900

Race:
Rosberg
Hamilton
Alonso
Raikkonen
Massa
Button
Magnussen
Hulkenberg
Perez
Bottas

Although I'm wondering if it's wise to put Hulk in the top 10 for this GP....you know, all things considered :p

Do you expect the same turn out this year?

There's no way to know until after the prediction deadline for the second race. (Lots of people miss the deadline for the first race.)
I haven't found any new forums to invite. I aim to have a similar number of forums in the league to the number of teams in F1.

~9 hours until prediction deadline for Australia! :emoticon-0158-time:
