I spoke to Benny, the original poster of this, today. He doesn't have any more info, but is very confident in his source. Mittal does have Russian contacts through his steel business, and we agreed that the lack of outlay by the current owners would indicate that they do believe a deal will happen for reasons given more than once elsewhere. Before I get slaughtered by the "they are tight wads" brigade, do cast your minds back over the last few years, we have spent a fair few quid. I'm pinning my hopes on something happening, and not buying the green and white scarf yet!
