My memory of Stafford Heginbotham from the time was that he looked dodgy, when i've spoke with Bradford fans about the fire a few have said he was 'dodgy as ****' and the points highlighted in that piece suggest the fire was no accident, however there is no hard evidence against him.
The Police and Insurance companies would had been aware of the previous fires connected to Heginbotham and the Health and safety mob from the council and fire brigade should had spoke up in regards to the warnings issued which would had helped secure a Manslaughter conviction against him.
Finally if he did torch the stand(or a accomplice did) surely they wouldn't have gambled with the lives of thousands while a match was going on?, they would have at least waited until the end of the game if they were going to use the disgarded cigarette/match excuse.
I presume the profits from this book are going to the Bradford Burns Unit?

I was at St Andrews, Birmingham at the time where I witnessed the tragedy of a young lad being killed by a wall collapsing. I then travelled back to Leeds on a "service" train which was windowless by the time we reached holbeck junction, and the filth nicked thirty or so from the looted buffet car.
