OK everyone, last entries are to be received tomorrow, FRIDAY, by 11.59pm! Itâs not being a âjobsworthâ here, we have to further prepare all 600+ entries over the weekend and if we accept weekend entries weâd never finish! So very sorry, none to be counted on Saturday, itâs been up nearly a month now! Latest figues as of Wednesday 14th August - 620 guesses / from 38 forums (with 37 of these included in the forum average game too. Just a word; what Iâve been doing in some previous posts is only numbering the individual entries. Doesn't mean anything it itself, except that of course the more entries the more chance statistically the best individuals from your forum will be well positioned overall, but anything can happen. And in the separate forum competition part it is not vital having lots at all. It's simply a minimum of 5 needed to get a forum average, but once there reached it's an averaged out forum guess from all predictions on a particular site so ... you're on equal footing whether it's 6 participants or 50 from a forum - all to play for. However, with lots of guesses in an âidiotâ selection does get minimalized! But you never know whatâs in store; if someone has - for example â Palace down for 10th and they did in fact finish 10th, then that person would be 8-10 points better on that guess compared to nearly everyone else - who (really sorry Palace fans on this occasion!) have decided Palace are a choice down for relegation. So points are awarded, then added up, on EVERY team and how far out you are, both for the individual awards and the team forums - thatâs why your best thought-out order is what we're after! Lots of points are BAD; means youâre way out with positions. Ah, but which teams might throw a surprise then, either better or far worse than most expect? I simply dunno ⦠ah, well that's the real beauty of football, and what makes this game fun!! What IS IMPORTANT to know is that after this weekendâs premier league fixtures the first REAL fan points come onto the table and the first national order produced. just one thing – about the forum ‘average’ entry, we’ve had a couple of posts about this: when I started this, I found that they don't use normal adding up and averaging system at Sunderland – and by the way, the admin man of Black Cat Chat should get the plaudits for the maths not me, I just enjoy the ‘outreach work’! What they do is make a single average forum selection from the guesses received as if it were an entry itself, then mark it against other forum "entries" in the same way. Supposed to be pretty fool proof in the way they calculate it, even gives a BETTER idea of membership intentions, but you ALL play together and so you all should know it's not at all just a question of 3+4+5=12 divided by 3 = 4 ...
