I can understand how the security guard feels having spent time on the district line with this lot...

 

You might be right ... but at the end of the season. But there's always a surprise along the way, a team doing surprisingly good. For example, I remember last season WBA came out of the blocks fast, nearly top four after a month and a half, which made interesting reading in our League Positions game, virtually no-one had seen that. Later on though, they went down a few positions of course ...

 

I just cannot believe that your average prediction has WBA in 9th place this year, do people really expect them to repeat last season's performance without the bloke who scored all their goals?

WTF I just don't get it, despite a 12th then 11th place finish in the EPL we are still 3rd favourites to be relegated ??

I think you guys were condemned last season too - second season syndrome and all that - and look how wrong many were!

 

this is what i don't understand though - why aren't west ham and southampton being considered for '2nd season syndrome'? why was it just us? qpr nor swansea were told to expect it last season, just norwich. its definitely ignorance

 

Think you're probably right to be honest. Actually, Norwich gave us such hard games back in the Championship a few seasons ago that most Royals would have valued you rightly last season I feel ... but we're not 'big' boys either, to be listened to!

OK everyone, last entries are to be received tomorrow, FRIDAY, by 11.59pm! It’s not being a ‘jobsworth’ here, we have to further prepare all 600+ entries over the weekend and if we accept weekend entries we’d never finish! So very sorry, none to be counted on Saturday, it’s been up nearly a month now!

Just a word; what I’ve been doing in some previous posts is only numbering the individual entries. Doesn't mean anything it itself, except that of course the more entries the more chance statistically the best individuals from your forum will be well positioned overall, but anything can happen.

And in the separate forum competition part it is not vital having lots at all. It's simply a minimum of 5 needed to get a forum average, but once there reached it's an averaged out forum guess from all predictions on a particular site so ... you're on equal footing whether it's 6 participants or 50 from a forum - all to play for. However, with lots of guesses in an ‘idiot’ selection does get minimalized!
But you never know what’s in store; if someone has - for example – Palace down for 10th and they did in fact finish 10th, then that person would be 8-10 points better on that guess compared to nearly everyone else - who (really sorry Palace fans on this occasion!) have decided Palace are a choice down for relegation. So points are awarded, then added up, on EVERY team and how far out you are, both for the individual awards and the team forums - that’s why your best thought-out order is what we're after! Lots of points are BAD; means you’re way out with positions. Ah, but which teams might throw a surprise then, either better or far worse than most expect? I simply dunno … ah, well that's the real beauty of football, and what makes this game fun!!

What IS IMPORTANT to know is that after this weekend’s premier league fixtures the first REAL fan points come onto the table and the first national order produced. Have fun – should be up middle of next week.
