I see the Telegraph is now linking us (along with others) with Isaac Hayden, who's leaving Newcastle this summer. He's another player who can play at both DM and CB.

"Arsene Wenger has described Hayden as a player whose key assets are concentration, intelligence and strength. Equally comfortable at centre-back or in central-midfield, whilst having also previously featured at right-back and as a playmaker."

I think he'll go to West Ham or another London side. Brighton are also said to be interested and would probably have an advantage over us.

Apparently wanted to be nearer family down south after his partner had a baby last year. Tried to force a transfer then too.

According to the EDP, Newcastle wants £15m for him so I don't think this one is likely.

Decent but not excited. On a free, then yeah, maybe a nice free Tetty replacement. Not a massive fan, but I can see why, if we are looking at him.

Oh. I assumed his contract was up.

    No then!

Edit: How can Newcastle want 15M for him?! He is very average, and DM, if they want to sell him, then he's not good enough for them. Plus isn't 15M only just shy of their record transfer?! How could they justify asking for that, when they pay 1/4 of that for a striker?

    Smells like BS. Again.

The Sun reckon we're signing Joe Hart...<laugh>

In other news, Marcel Franke is keen to return to Norwich and have a crack at the Premier League. Somehow can't see that myself.

My Football Writer have had their say on who stays, and who goes:

Shift: Oxborough (loan), Pinto, Raggett, Franke, Cantwell (loan), Jarvis, Wildschut, Marshall, Morris, Oliveira

    Maybe shift: Passlack, Hanley, Srbeny

I think that for our academy to keep producing first - team regulars, they have to be ruthless with those not up to standard!

Passlack was on loan wasn't he? completely forgot about him tbh. I think Hanley would be a good back up.

Yeah Passlack is a funny one. He's on loan, hasn't played, but (at least a few months ago) Dortmund were apparently happy with his loan spell and his progress. Bild are apparently reporting that Dortmund are giving up on him, so will sell/loan him again this summer.

Given how highly rated he is/was, it does sound a bit like a potential Norwich signing, particularly if he's available for a nominal fee. The Pinkun/EDP expect him to leave however, so presumably he hasn't impressed enough over the year for Norwich to be interested long term. They'll certainly know enough to make an informed decision.

Two expensive mistakes: RvW and Naismith. The latter seems to be top dog at Hearts with several goals, but is injured? What ever happened to RvW? Lafferty at Rangers has gone quiet, but at least he has managed some goals.

RvW has been scoring goals since he left us, including in the Champions League.

Would have scored with us if we played football how we did last season! Houghton defensive style was awful for him!

He was expected to play like Holt but was never that type of player!
