If we signed Che Adams or another expensive striker, it would mean either he or Pukki would be on the bench, much like what Rhodes has had to face this season. If Rhodes leaves, we'll need a replacement, but not one who will cost £15m. Pukki has been the Championship player of the year and will lead our attack next season. When he was injured for 3 games, Rhodes did well to keep the run going, but as soon as he was fit again, Pukki was back in the line-up. If Rhodes doesn't stay, then we're more likely to go for a young striker like Wriedt at Bayern, perhaps costing around £3m, as money will be needed for other players, a larger wage bill and other club expenses.

Meanwhile, there's some good news about Zeffane, the Rennes RB we've been linked with a number of times:

    http://www.insidefutbol.com/2019/05...-admits-desire-for-switch-from-rennes/418860/

The departure of Pinto may well mean that this move might be on.

I agree with the Che Adams signing (as much as id like to get him!)

I feel we need to add the following...

GK (to give Krul proper competition)

CB (Not sure Godfrey is ready to be a Prem CB, as good as he is!)

CDM (Tettey is only a back up to Trybull, we need someone to provide quality competition- Ajayi??? )

RB (Aarons needs competition: Zeffane could be the answer)

ST (Pukki can’t do it all alone at that level, we need Prem quality competition that Srbeny can’t really provide: Wriedt would be a great and I'd keep Rhodes).

Don't think about Che Adams. He is way beyond our Club.

    Agreed <applause>

I keep saying that IMO, we'll only lose 1 or 2 of our youff!!! My money is on Aarons and possibly TC if he can't agree a new deal. <ok>

I honestly don't think we'll lose any of the young players, it would take silly money for us to sell anyone now.

Much will depend on what happens with Aarons' new contract offer. If he accepts that (and I think he will) then he'll stay. The bond in this team is something special and the four young guns have a bond on top of that. Teamalk is always spouting off to stir things up so it'll take more than that to convince me.

Meanwhile there's a new striker possibility, on a free transfer as well and according to the Spanish source, we've made an approach:

    https://readnorwich.com/2019/05/06/norwich-keen-on-sergi-enrich/

Similar age to Pukki and a decent scoring rate overall. Wiki page:

We knew Pinto was moving on this summer, but after the Wes game he said in an interview that his next club is sorted. Pleased for him that that's happened smoothly. Another one of the unsung heroes behind the scenes this season, pleased he's had a good send off.

Great link. That lad is very much a Pukki style player.

Surplus to requirements all round it seems?

"Millwall boss Neil Harris has ruled out a return for Ben Marshall next season.
The winger has been on loan from Norwich City since January but did not make the matchday 18 for the final two matches – despite not being injured.

Marshall had been a huge hit in his first stint with the Lions in the 2017-18 campaign, joining midway through the campaign from Wolves.
But he struggled to get close to replicating that form this time around.

Harris said: “Ben Marshall won’t be here next season.”

What makes these twats think we have to kneel down and accept whatever offers - derisory or otherwise, "big" (?) clubs like ManUre deem fit to offer us.
You're dealing with Webber now, arseholes, not Neil Doncaster <grr>
Double it and SW may give you three minutes of his precious and productively used time.
    Otherwise, bog off <ok>

They don't even know what they're talking about: "The 21-year-old has had back-to-back solid seasons in defence at different levels of English football". Erm, he played at DM at Shrewsbury. Twats indeed.

The fact that Godfrey has played both positions and we're said to be interested in Ajayi, who has also played both positions, makes me wonder whether there could be some tweaks to our formation next season. Our defenders are comfortable playing out of defence but might we play 3 at the back with one CB who shifts into DM as the ball is played through the thirds, thus allowing the deep playmaker to move forward to support the attack. When possession is lost, they shift back to their original positions again with the extra CB to fend off any attack and also defend against corners and free-kicks. That would give us fluidity and movement all over the pitch, rather than just in the attack while also making us stronger defensively.

Not much talk about Srbeny, what's happening to him? Still has two years on his contract. <yikes>

I think Srbeny will remain our third striker with either Rhodes staying on or a new striker coming in to replace him.

On top of Josh not having a great season, Chelsea are going to have a transfer ban!
