There will be those, those who don't seem to understand that if you are right footed, playing on the left is likely to cause problems, who will pleased to see the back of him. I'm disappointed. We now probably need 2 full-backs and two centre-backs having parted with Berry, Blanchard, Parsons and Trotman and already being short of one left-back. On a more positive note: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27782803
Well well indeed, good on ya Reuben, beginning to think you would be elsewhere next season and bang in another 20 goals no probs! Have to give credit to JS and the board for securing his services again....keep it up!
Good to see Reuben Reid has signed a 2yr contract to stay at Argyle......I wasn't expecting him to make a decision so soon about his future......this gives Sheridan time to concentrate on the other areas of the team he needs to strengthen.....certainly defence.
Only just noticed that Andres Gurrieri has also refused a new contract......that surprises me.....He didn't seem to have many options last time....interesting to see if it's different this time....now he's married is he after more money ? PS.....That's all the offers settled one way or another ......Sheridan can concentrate solely on bringing in better players !!!
Possible query against one of our summer friendlies.. Today Hereford where thrown out of the Conference League because of their outstanding debts not being paid. Possibly playing in the Premier Southern League.....if accepted by that league.......so possible question mark against out away game on Sat Aug 2nd at Hereford.
I'm fairly surprised at all of this news. I absolutely expected Reid to sign for Bristol City and wouldn't have balmed him if he had done. He clearly likes it here and it is a bit of good news. Berry surprises me in that I thought he had improved quite a bit from his start at Argyle but not enough to be a choice for others. I can't see him having loads of choices but guess he must have at least one. Gurrieri is another in that category. Fitted in quite well some of the time at Argyle but didn't rip up trees or anything. Would have been alright if he stayed and I can't see him having loads of other choices.
Maybe his new misses is hankering for being home in Argentina......they've been there since the end of season.......he seemed to be very happy in Plymouth.....maybe he tried for more money being married now ?
He may be a footballer plym but that doesn't make him totally stupid. He must know the sort of wages a 4th tier player gets over here. He was never going to command big bucks and I doubt very much he would get as much or more in his homeland or have the sort of standard of living he can get here either. He should have married a Janneress then. Pasty and bag of pork scratchings and they are happy as larry.
Just read the Herald stories on these players. Says the other 2 were released having rejected the offers made. That says to me that Sheridan thinks they are worth X and isn't willing to shell out more of his budget to increase the offers. Clearly thinks he can do as well if not better for the cash with others and doesn't seem that bothered they are gone. At least we know they won't be held to ransom by players.
Jamie Richards has joined Irish League Club Linfield until the end of the year. Warren Feeney took over as manager of Linfield in April having been assistant manager at Salisbury since leaving PAFC.
Argyle sign 21yr old 5ft 11in..... Irish...centre half/left back..... Carl McHugh on a 2yr contract.... released by Div1 Bradford City at end of last season.
Just had a bit of look about for this one and it doesn't seem a bad signing to me. Bit of experience at a higher level and seems well thought of by the fans. On face value we seem to be doing ok on the signing front this term. The difference being that everything is being done early unlike previous seasons which is refreshing.
Well I doubt they will offer a 6 figure sum. Nice to see Argyle turning someone down for a change and I hope this shows some intent by not just grabbing the money.
Looks like he's getting close to completing the squad. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27918821 Any thoughts on the starting 11? For me, 4:2:1:3 (at home at least) GK McCormick RB A N Other CB Nelson CB Hartley LB McHugh DM Cox DM Hourihane AM Allesandra AT Banton AT Reid AT Smalley
Defender Peter Hartley 26yrs old has signed a 2yr contract with Plymouth. Released by Stevenage after one season.....had played four seasons for his home club Hartlepool before. Could be a good signing....time will tell. PS.....could be your RB notDistant.
