What if what she's says is all lies?.. you can't just assume it's true. Obviously its good to be empathic towards someone who could be the victim of a crime but at the same time you can't just set fire to someones career every time someone makes an accusation.

Agreed - I was just going to say - don’t believe everything you read on social media. While the woman’s claim should be taken very seriously and thoroughly investigated, she could have stretched some truth in her screenshots etc.

for example, people who have looked into the whole “10 days before UK law changed” thing could not find any UK law changed anywhere near that time that dealt with police jurisdiction.

personally, I think Arsenal have done their homework and they believe Partey will have all 3 charges dropped.

But this is more than 'just an accusation'. There was a reason why Partey was investigated and arrested at 3am. There is a reason why he is currently on extended bail and is still being investigated for two additional counts of rape from other women.

There's too much evidence that's been posted for it to all be lies. Snapchat conversations, WhatsApp conversations, emails between legal counsel, videos, photos, legal documents. Like I said. The fact she was willing to get into hundreds of thousands of pounds of debt to expose Partey shows where her priorities lie. She wants justice, not money.

As I said before, she also has evidence she WON the civil case. Partey chose to pay her off and settle. You don't do that, or give someone £156k in damages, if you're innocent.

    See post above to Bear.

This isn't any old accusation. There is a mountain of evidence here, including stuff with Partey's signature on it, on legal documents to agreements he's signed.

It's overwhelmingly clear that, at the very least, Partey has sexually assaulted this girl.

I just don't see how people can be ok with this.

The moment Arsenal knew Partey was being investigated by police for multiple charges of rape, he should have been suspended until it was ALL over at the very least.

I actually have seen this point being made a lot all over the place.

If I were a rich footballer - even if I were innocent, I would still settle and pay the other person (+ require an NDA etc) because my reputation would be at stake. Even if I had done nothing untoward, just the accusation getting out and being made public could permanently ruin my reputation as a footballer forever.

as such, I have no problem with partey paying the girl off - to me it doesn’t mean he’s automatically guilty.

Again though, it needs to be thoroughly investigated by the proper authorities. If it comes out that he is guilty in even one case, I never want to see him in an arsenal shirt again, but if he is found not guilty on all counts, not sure what to think, other than he was found not guilty.

There's a few things I want to address here.

    1) She has broken the terms of her NDA, now owes Partey in excess of £200k for breaking a binding agreement, is still posting copious amounts of messages and documents from when this started over a year ago, and has proof of messages from other women who have also had troublesome experiences with Partey. This isn't an isolated incident.

It's clear she isn't getting money from this and is now in tonnes of debt. So, at this point, she has no reason to continue posting other than to try and seek justice/raise awareness about Partey's character.

And I have to say. It does worry me that there are multiple women who have accused him of rape that he's being investigated for.
I know high-profile footballers probably get accused of all sorts. But for it to be scrutinised to this level, and for Partey to still be on extended bail, means there has to be some substance to these allegations. That's what worries me.

    2) The other issue is that rape is extremely difficult to prove in a court of law. Many times, cases get thrown out due to insufficient evidence - this is actually a common reason why many rapists don't get prosecuted. So just because he gets cleared in court, it also doesn't mean he's innocent. Absence of evidence doesn't mean innocent. I know there are some women who probably try to falsely accuse footballers of all sorts for money, but equally, top-flight footballers have the resources and expert counsel to overthrow these cases with relative ease.

Whether he gets officially convicted or not, it is apparent what type of person he is. And I'd prefer to not have people like this at the club.

Thought we’d get more for him but I think at this point we just need to get him and his £75k a week wages off the books. He clearly has not settled in England and has no desire to be here, so just flog him.

I can’t believe some of the fees were letting players go for. Clubs are taking liberties with us; Obviously torreira has 1 year left on his deal, and is on high wages, but surely he is worth more than £5m?

he was one of fiorentinas better players last season and they wouldn’t pay more than £5m??? So odd.

The stumbling block is his wages. At Fiorentina last season, he was Fiorentina’s 2nd highest earner at the club. I don’t think they want him on that level of money permanently.

Based on the level of team interested in him, he’s either going to have to reduce his wage demands or we will have to accept a lesser fee to compensate.

I actually think he’s a talented player and, if he was prepared to stay, could be a useful player in the squad. But it’s clear he’s wanted out for over 2 years now, so no point keeping him against his will.

I'm actually less concerned with the fees for these fringe players than I am just getting them and their wages off the books so that we can make the additions we need.

It looks like this week we will sell Leno and Torreira, which should help us move for either Tielemans or Paqueta.

If we can move on players like Bellerin, Maitland Niles, Pablo Mari before the end of the window and add one of the above then it will be a very decent window for us.

This show is going to be good <laugh>

Can see how well our players get on with clips like this.

Didn't realise quite how 'gangsta blud' Smith Rowe is.

Yeah, I think we’re at a point where we’re just gonna have to take the hit and get them off the wage bill. It’s frustrating in some ways because we’ve reduced our wage bill so much in the last couple years and yet we still have more to offload. I was hoping we could squeeze a bit more £ for them, but that’s looking very tricky at the moment.

Genuinely thought Bellerin, Mari, Nelson, AMN and Pepe would be goners by now. There’s still time, so could happen, but I did think there would be more suitors by now.

Pepe is gonna be a problem to get rid of tbh.
The deal to sign him included paying for him in installments. From memory, it was £6m every transfer window for 6 years.
This window is the 7th so you've paid £42m for him so far and still owe £30m. If sold before the final installment then the rest has to be paid in full.
Selling him now for less than £30m will mean you effectively paying a fee to sell him.
He is also on mega money iirc....£150,000 plus per week.

Might be misremembering though...covid has rotted my memory!

I think he’s on even more than that. We just need to get rid £25-£30m to Toon hopefully

Actually ridiculous how bad this whole era of Arsenal signings were. As much as the fans blamed Arsene/Emery over that period(2013-2020) looking back it at it, our transfer decisions were arguably the biggest issue. High wages to mediocre players, paying too much for individuals who had no re-sell value.

Lacazette bought for £45m leaves on a free
Aubameyang bought for £50m leaves on a free
Mustafi bought for £30m leaves on a free
Ozil bought for £42.5m leaves on a free
Aaron Ramsey leaving on a free.
    David Luiz for £8m
Willian on a two year deal
Pepe £72m - will we get more than £10m for him?

At least over the last 24 months the signings have looked ALOT better.

Seems like it’s only a matter of time before more players leave over the next week or so.

Looks like Pablo Mari might be next. With Monza and possibly Celtic interested.

I actually think he's a fairly decent back up CB, but if it frees up a squad place and wages for somebody like Tielemans, then I'm happy to see these fringe players go.

Has anyone seen the breakdown of Fulham’s fee for Leno??? This is an absolute abomination.

so £3m up front for Leno is basically what we’re getting. I have no words for how awful that deal is for us.

They paid £15m for Andreas Pereira ffs.
