Ben Liddle has joined Scottish Chmpionship side Queen of the South on loan for the season.

He is 22 meaning our squad numbers for over 21's is now 20 and the limit is 20. Full squad. Need to remove more if we want a RB in the squad and CF or 2.

We had him on loan in 2007 from Birmingham and he tragically died today age 35.

 

Rovers and Cheltenham are showing an interest in Ellis Harrison, this is one time I hope we do beat Cheltenham, at least he scored goals

 

It would be great to have Ellis back - he’d do a job for us in L2. He’s not even on the Pompey bench today.

 

Won't happen and to be honest, I doubt he would do well for us. He has been littered with injuries since he left us so I think best to give him a miss as we need someone for the whole season.

 

Last season we had Daly, Ayunga and Hanlan as strikers, we ripped up the contracts of Daly and Ayunga and sold Hanlan. We failed with the three strikers to score enough goals to get the points to keep us in league 1. We now have Pitman who is not fully fit and attacking midfielders to score the goals we ned to stay in the league and with time running out that looks to be it.

If three strikers who when they played gave their all when the defence behind them had more holes in it than a colander I think that relegation to the national league will be the quickest on record especially as the defence has not improved with all the wonderful JB signings

Harrison was a good all round player. Scored about 50 in 200, and defended well too. I doubt if he ever wanted to leave.

According to Bristol Live Rovers are hoping to sign Anthony Evans who is a free agent from Paderborn, he has played for among others Blackpool and Crewe. Another attacking MF

 

And by the look of his stats he's an attacking midfielder who doesn't score many goals!!! Deary me.

 

Apparently Rovers are set to sign Junior Brown Left W / Back on a free transfer

2 3/4 hours to go and NO confirmed signings just rumours and they won't do much to strengthen the team

I wonder who’s leaving/not getting a squad number to accommodate them?

 

From what I read about Leon Clarke he had a worse scoring record than Daly, Ayunga and Hanlan last season. 4 goals in 25 appearances in the last two seasons and he is 36 years old would rather have had a youngster who would have got better and who would be around for a few years. with his record still no striker cant see him playing 40 plus games this season

 

Oh well, if all else fails Brett and Leon can open a pub together!

League Two club Bristol Rovers have signed Junior Brown, Leon Clarke and Antony Evans on one-year deals.

Left-back Brown, 32, spent last season at Scunthorpe, making 15 appearances.

Experienced striker Clarke, 46, has had spells at Wolves, Coventry, Bury and Sheffield United and scored once in 10 outings for Shrewsbury during 2020-21.

Midfielder Evans, 22, had a loan spell at Crewe earlier this year and joins the Pirates after a stint at German club Paderborn.

 

Josh Barrett has left the club who thanked him for all his effort, must have blinked at that moment, think he was the laziest player to put on the quarters
