Probably the most changes for any club at the start of this season. Make of it what you will. We have a hell of a lot of new faces. I think this is the extensive list. Sorry if I have missed someone. What to make of it all? A lot of quality in, let's hope Zola can make the most of this.

Matej Vydra: Udinese - Watford (loan) 30/07/2012

Nathaniel Chalobah: Chelsea - Watford (loan) 31/08/12

ALSO !! INS : Defenders Jean-Alain Fanchone (23), Neuton Piccoli (22) and Lars (Joel) Ekstrand (23) are joined by creative midfielder Cristian Battocchio (20) and striker Fernando Forestieri (22) at Vicarage Road from Udinese.

Dale Bennett: Watford - AC Wimbledon (loan) 31/08/2012

well, let's face it...last season we added 11 to our books, so it's only 5 more! lol.

Seriously? The only sad bit is losing Tiny, but hopefully we have brought someone in that can take that position just as well...we can only hope, coz he was a rock for us. I'm still excited, though it'll be interesting to see who we play!

Hopefully Nosworthy, Iwelumo and Garner will be added to the OUTS list, then we can all get some value for our hard earned money and watch some proper football!!!

I guess so, exciting football times ahead. However, I feel we've lost our heart a bit with so many incoming players.

It is a sea change in 'The Watford Way' and the passing of something special. But football has moved on and so must the club.

Let's face it, the old way wasn't going to get us anywhere near The Prem and if things hadn't changed it could have been much, much worse.

I think once GFZ sorts out his best team and has adequate cover a few of the loanees might go back. And I am looking forward to this bunch of Carlos Kickaballs setting the division alight.

So long as we see performances against Birmingham rather than the other 2 home games I've seen which were as bad as a Dyche hoofball game.

Wasn't at the Bradford match.

Are we becoming a bit like a road under repair? Send out the traffic cones and park them until we can find a use for them.

I can see little point in us having so many players unless they are 'on trial' with us and will be sent back if they are not good enough to play in the championship. I am also concerned about the number of them that have arrived and seem to be unfit. It may work, or it may not, only time will tell, but unless GFZ can mold them into a team that wins points this season then I guess that his days will be numbered.

see what you two are saying. I should move with the times a bit even if it means we are losing our rthos a lot, something I held proudly. At least we have a lot of defenders to pick after today's performance.

Losing our "rthos" sounds quite painful - presumably we were still under the anesthetic at Pride Park today.

Many people are seeing it as a loss of identity with all of these loanees coming in, but as Hornette pointed out, our actual playing/coaching squad has been changed only marginally more than last season, and in fact many of the seasons within the past decade. How many of our current squad were born in Hertfordshire and support the club? Not many. if we had hit the administration wall which we would have done without this takeover then these players would have left in a flash like they had done the other two times.

Change was needed for us to compete up the table. Today's result I feel was only an anomaly, coming at the wrong time with players coming and going. The international break will give Zola a chance to bed the new players in, get them fit, and organise who is first team and who is fringe squad. I imagine that some of these loanees will go back to Udinese if they fail to feature.

Keep the faith!

Good point...people were complaining we had too many english journeymen at the club last season.

We still have a core of youngsters but TBH the Under 18s were pretty average last season and I remember when the likes of Britt and Hodson got into the side it was claimed they weren't ready.

It would be unfair to suggest the Pozzos don't care about the Youth players because Dyche didn't play that many apart from Murray.

Yesterday seemed to be about a poor tactical decision in playing Dickinson at centre half..quite frankly we might as well played a half fit loan player or the kid from Chelsea!
