Apparently Clarke has a thigh injury. Have also heard from a good source, that we will only bring in a maximum of two loan players. With two players leaving the Club, one of them is Ward.

It looks like I will need to send that 20quid to a Charity of your choice. I have been trying to look on the bright side. But even though we are in contention for promotion RD will not push the boat out.
I don’t think it will be Cullen as he won’t be fit until the end of January.

Ahead of Saturday's game at Barnsley, Head of Medical Services Alastair Thrush provides the latest from Sparrows Lane's treatment room.

George Lapslie suffered a nasty head-to-head collision at the end of the Coventry game which resulted in him requiring several stiches to a large facial laceration. Unfortunately the episode has also resulted in some further concussive symptoms for which he will require some extended time out, as this will be his second concussion in as many weeks. He will be continually reviewed by the medical team and will be re-integrated back into training as appropriate.

Josh Cullen continues to make good progress following the left shoulder dislocation he suffered away to Walsall. He is back outside completing ballwork and conditioning sessions with the strength and conditioning staff and is working on the final stages of strength work in the gym. It is hoped that he will re-integrate back into team training in the next two weeks.

Joe Aribo suffered an injury to his left knee in a tackle in our win over Gillingham. He has damaged a number of structures within the knee, but thankfully none of them too badly. He is currently in a protective brace whilst the knee settles, after which he will start his rehab work in the gym. It is anticipated that he will be out for four-six weeks as a result of the injury.

Lewis Page continues his rehabilitation and has started some running and movement drills outside with the physio. He will likely remain out until February at the earliest.

Igor Vetokele is expected back at the end of February after his right shoulder dislocation in our game against Walsall. Whilst the injury was the same as that suffered by Josh Cullen in the same game, the damage caused by the dislocation was a little more extensive, and as such, he had a slightly different operation six weeks ago, for which the recovery will be longer. He is making good progress however and working hard in the gym with his rehabilitation.

Jake Forster-Caskey remains out following the ACL rupture sustained at the start of the season. He is however progressing ahead of schedule and due to commence running again within the next few weeks, which is a great testament to the hard work and hours he has been putting in with his rehabilitation to date in the gym.

Desperately unfortunate for Lapslie to have 2 concussions following, especially after his MOM performance. Let's hope there are no serious after-effects.
It would be a huge boost to have Cullen back, his quality is badly missed.
Does Aribo's injury mean Roland won't be able to sell him? If so it will mean the exit of Bauer, which is a big loss, especially with Bielik's disciplinary record.
Igor and Page are never fit for long so it doesn't matter when they come back.
Who's next for the treatment room then?

We never seem to get short term injuries.

    It’s always 6 weeks to 9 months.

Lapslie has had 2 concussions one after the other, so they are rightly being very careful with him. Terrible luck, especially with the recent evidence about how concussions can affect you in later life. Let's hope it's not compression.

He’s a good lad and a 100% trier, but we really should not be in a position whereby we are sweating on his return.

On the BBC website, Welsh rugby international Leigh Halfpenny has been out for two months with concussion.

Concussion is in no way to be dismissed - I was commenting more generally about what it says about the weakness of our squad that we so need G.L back.

Pratley, Fosu and Marshall have been very poor.

The VOTV Editor reckons the club would love to shift Ajose, Igor and possibly Sarr in January...but can't because of the ridiculous wages they are on at Charlton. <doh>

All three are on £5,000 to £8,000 a week.
