Our regular catch-up with the Club’s Head of Medical Services, Rob Price, brought some encouraging updates earlier today. Here’s all the latest on the players currently in the treatment room: Michael Dawson (Medial Collateral Ligament) Although Michael missed a lot of last week with a virus, the plan remains for him to start training with the rest of the team next week and then hopefully, with some sessions under his belt, he’ll be available from the Bournemouth game after the international break onwards. He’s done really well in his recovery from this injury. Moses Odubajo (Patella Dislocation & Medial Patella Femoral Ligament Reconstruction) Moses (pictured) has had some good news this week following a review with his consultant and he is now able to start his outdoor rehab. He’ll have his first run outside today, but it is still relatively early days. I know it seems like he has already been out for a long time but this is generally a four-month recovery and if we get him back any sooner then we will have done well. However, it is positive news with the start of his outdoor rehab. Allan McGregor (Back) Allan has made some significant progress in the last few weeks and he is now outside doing some drills with goalkeeping coach Gary Walsh. We’re still working on Allan’s strength and mobility and we’re not going to put a time-scale on a return to training, but we’re pleased with how he is progressing. Alex Bruce (Achilles Tendon Reconstruction) It’s going to be December before Alex is back, but he is running on the AlterG treadmill at 85% of his body weight which is a good progression for him. He’s also doing some loading work in the gym and some shock absorption through his calf and achilles, so he is progressing nicely but we’re still a long time away from seeing Alex back on the pitch. Greg Luer (Knee/Meniscus) Greg is still recovering from surgery and is doing some pool work and some strength work at the moment. It's likely to be Christmas before we see him back in action. Brian Lenihan (Knee) Brian has responded well to an injection in his knee and is completing his outdoor rehab. We hope to see him back in training in the next couple of weeks.
