Which suggests something wrong with training and player conditioning

It does. The club doctor apparently left in the summer and we've not replaced him yet

I've been saying for some time we seem to have more injuries than other teams,it needs investigating.

When it happened before, I naturally assumed it was down to the high intensity press and out running the opposition. That can't be there case now though, we don't do it anymore. Unless it's the aftermath of previous years...

If that was the cause then Trent and Fab would never get injured.

    Klopp today:

Jota is on course to resume full training next week.

"The No.20 has not played since mid-October after sustaining a calf injury during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Manchester City at Anfield.

However, Jürgen Klopp offered a positive update on Jota’s condition during Friday’s press conference to preview the Reds’ trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Klopp also provided the latest news on the respective recoveries of Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk, while also confirming that Ibrahima Konate picked up a muscle problem at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

“Generally it’s looking better. The boys are training, Diogo Jota had a full session with the team this week but then the next day had again a rehab session, not because of the session the day before, it was just part of the plan. I think he will be back in normal training next week.

“Bobby is getting closer obviously, very good. Luis is running now, it will take a few weeks still but he is now out on the pitch as well running, which is really good.

“Ibou is out. Virgil is getting closer, but not ready for the [Wolves] game obviously. Parts of training, I think, next week as well for Virgil. I think there is nothing else so far, but there’s still two hours before training so a lot can happen.

“Ibou has a muscle injury. Again he didn’t think it was massive, it happened in the game, I asked him after the game, ‘Are you OK?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m OK.’ After the game [he had] treatment, scan, bam, out.”

Neil Atkinson (Anfield wrap) was asked recently who was the player we most needed back.....

    Without hesitation he said.........Diogo Jota.

Diaz. End of. But he won't be match fit until May, so we shouldn't bother rushing him and should just write him off until next season
