He'll probably go on to play until his 50's considering how much time he's been skiving off with the slightest knock.

    ****ing tosser.<grr>

Pre-Tottenham injury update on Emre Can and Divock Origi
    Chris Shaw@shawct

Emre Can and Divock Origi are doubts for Liverpool's clash with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend after suffering knocks in the EFL Cup win at Burton Albion on Tuesday.

Both players had come off the pitch by full-time at Pirelli Stadium as the Reds set up a meeting with Derby County in the third round with an impressive 5-0 result.

And the pair will need to be assessed carefully ahead of the team’s return to Premier League duty at White Hart Lane, Jürgen Klopp explained at his pre-match press conference.

The manager said: “There are a few players a little bit in doubt, of course. It’s not too serious.

“We had a game on Tuesday and the next game is in two days again, so we need to wait a little bit.

“Of course, it’s Emre – there’s nothing really serious in the ankle but it’s ‘his’ ankle if you want, where he had a few problems in the past.

“It shouldn’t be too long, for sure, but maybe too long for the Tottenham game, I don’t know in this moment.

“It’s the same with Divock. It’s nothing serious really. But if you have cramp, whatever the cramp exactly is because [there are] different levels, you need to have a look at it too. So it’s not for sure that they will be available.”

Emre Can has been ruled out of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Leicester City on Saturday, while Ragnar Klavan's fitness must be assessed before the return to Anfield.
Jürgen Klopp provided an update on the pair – and confirmed a clean bill of health for Sadio Mane – as he previewed the game against the reigning champions at a Melwood press conference on Thursday.
Can missed the meeting with Tottenham Hotspur before the international break and then did not subsequently feature for Germany, due to an ankle injury.
Klavan, meanwhile, has suffered a knee problem and will be monitored before a decision is taken on his inclusion for the much-anticipated first home fixture of the season.
The manager told reporters: “Mane, I don’t know how it works and who said it, but it was absolutely nothing. He has trained since he was [back] here completely normally.
“Emre is different. In the Burton game, he didn’t even need an opponent – he did it by himself – but this little issue with the ankle.
“It is much better but Emre didn’t have a perfect pre-season and didn’t have a few games and unfortunately another two-and-a-half-week break now.
“Maybe he will be back today or tomorrow in team training but it will not be enough for the Leicester game.
“Another player with problems is Ragnar Klavan. He had this really unlucky game. He had a bone bruise and a little rip, not too deep, around the knee.
“We don’t need to stitch it but we have to wait. It is obviously a little bit painful so we have to see what happened overnight. We’ll know more this afternoon.”
Klopp added: “[Sheyi] Ojo has not been in team training until now. I don’t know if there’s anybody else that we could or should talk about.
“We have enough players available, if nothing happens today and tomorrow. We will have a good team. I hope everybody wants to play. Then we have to make a few decisions, we will make them and then we will start.”

Loris Karius has revealed the support of the Liverpool fans during his stint in the treatment room was extremely helpful in his recovery from injury.

The summer recruit was forced to sit out the start of the season due a broken finger, but resumed full training this week ahead of the return of the Premier League this weekend.

Karius is set to challenge for a starting place against Leicester City on Saturday and the 23-year-old was keen to thank the Liverpool supporters ahead of his possible debut for the club.

‘People have recognised me at the traffic lights, when I’m having lunch or things like that :huh:o_O and it’s really nice to see because they’re all just wishing you the best and a good recovery,’ Karius told the club website.

Personally I prefer to eat my lunch and hang out by the roundabout, but each to their own

Melwood injury update: Lovren to return, Can to miss Chelsea clash

Jürgen Klopp today confirmed Dejan Lovren will return to the Liverpool squad for Friday evening's Premier League encounter with Chelsea - but Emre Can will sit out the trip to Stamford Bridge.

Lovren missed the Reds’ emphatic 4-1 victory over Leicester City last weekend after sustaining a heavily swollen and bruised eye in an accidental collision during a session at Melwood.

Can, meanwhile, hasn’t figured since picking up an ankle injury in the EFL Cup win at Burton Albion on August 23 and though he has resumed training, the journey to London will come too soon for him to be considered for selection.

Klopp told his pre-match press conference at Melwood: “The players who were involved in the last game are, until now, all ready again - plus Dejan. Not the others, for example Emre.

“Emre is not injured any more, which is good, but now he needs to train and that’s how it is. He had a difficult pre-season with coming back later than most of the other players then a little injury here and a little problem there.

“Until now, it was not the best moment but he is still a wonderful player and now we have to make him fit.

“That’s what we will do with him, that’s what we will do with Mama [Sakho] and if you want, with Joe Gomez and all the others.

“Simon [Mignolet] is all good and Loris [Karius] has been in training the whole week now, so all good.”
