Could have gotten £20m for him back in January apparently, but instead we've chosen to cling on to him, so he could contribute in what seemed about 2 or 3 games from January through to the end of the season. He'll probably manage another dozen or so appearances this season and then he's gone on a free.
That decision back in January essentially will have cost us £20m for probably around 15 appearances. Excellent forward planning that... Unless CC is correct, and this 'injury' is a smokescreen for an impending sale.

Considering we sold Maxi for £25m, £50m sounds fine for Wilson. Plus everything's slow and **** over there, so he'll probably stay fit. I doubt Wilson would be adverse to a couple of years there getting minted.
