Better to have the 1st team play against Brum. A win could restore confidence for Fulham match. On the other hand, a defeat would show how bad we are. If we're going to get relegated, then we may as well win the FA Cup and Europa League. Then we'll be playing in Europe again next season.
We need wins to restore confidence, so I would play our strongest team for the cup game, Birmingham are no mugs, but I would love us to smash them, we lost Bodde to that lot!.....................
Thats not very logical. if we were to do all three as you've suggested then if you think the Europa league has cost us this year ,think of how many more additional games we'll have to play combining the league and the cup(s) , there's 38 games alone in the Championship + but if we were to win either the FA or Europa cup then we're in the CL (not for long I would guess but long enough to play an additional 6 in the group stages ),I wonder how a small club like ourselves fare . and more importantly how do think it'll affect our league form
Slowly but surely ,as long as it's not rushed , but good to see Dyer back on his feet and De Guzman doing some speed work (I know They don't go together in sentence ) http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/youtube-training-jan-22-1310540.aspx
See that's another issue, I rate Jazz and with our injuries this season Laudrup could easily have included him in games?? He can play midfield and at the back! Choices, it's all about choices............
Yes but who we rate doesn't mean the manger does the same , the recent games have seen quite a few U21's named on the bench and lots have been said about Donelly who the manger must see regularly has he trains with the 1st team squad .Jazz played in the 1st season of the PL doing no more or less what was expected of him ,nothing spectaular but a willing worker ,he's back from being on loan and perhaps if PL status is assured we may see more of the fringe players getting a game.,but PL positions mean money so one we're safe the next priority will be to see how high we finish.
Interesting that Southampton have lost Dejan Lovren and Gaston Ramirez for 2 months a piece. Also got Pablo Osvaldo suspended for a fortnight for fighting with a team mate and instability with the chairman resigning and an imminent takeover. It is most likely that their manager will be leaving come the end of the season also. Can they get dragged into the bottom half in the coming 2 months of mayhem or have they done enough already? Still grates that they managed to win that game at St. Mary's despite us comprehensively outplaying them. They are an excellent club though and play good football so hopefully they'll get to the 40 point mark ASAP and do it by defeating some of our rivals.
Never seen JDG run so fast only messing lol, be good to have him back, although not his biggest fan, we have missed him.
I've also had my gripes but he has improved of late and has started to develop a work ethic. And, yes, I agree that we have missed him. Mind you, we've missed Dyer, Pablo, Michu etc even more.
I consider that Dyer is the biggest loss, and the sooner he is back the better. That is not to say that we have not missed the others (Pablo, Micho and JDG, as they all add to the quality on the pitch...in that order actually) I also agree that JDG seems to have pulled his out of his in the last few games he played.
I'm more excited with Paulo coming back , the last few games he played before getting injured were the best he played.Dyer is great but I always expect Dyer to play well , wasn't the case with Pablo .
This is a big lesson learned with all our injuries, I and others were crying out for ML to ditch is idea of working with a small squad for the fear of this happening. It was not an ordinary season as we had European football to contend with and we needed 4-5 extra players for insurance against injuries, suspensions etc... That was bad judgement on ML's behalf and couple that with ki not wanted then there are plenty of mistakes that should not have happened this season....Its self inflicted and problems that could on the most part been avoided..
From basically no injuries for years to whats happening now is an extreme case of law of average hitting balance , amazing really!
