I wouldn't have been bothered if he was playing like he was 4-5 weeks ago, but he's been much improved lately so it is a blow. However we are lucky in that we have strength in depth in the central midfield area at the moment
n fairness though, those of us who have criticised JDG, well me at least, know what sort of player he is capable of as we have seen it in the past, so the criticism is more down to what seemed to be lack of effort more than the lack of ability.
Any injury is a blow but we should have cover anyway, I want to see Michu back asap as he needs to impress if he wants to get into the Spanish squad and I would recall Ki if we cant get anyone suitable in the transfer window. We should also start playing Donnelly a bit more so he can gain some experience playing and not sitting on the bench...He deserves his break..
Never mind Michu impressing the Spanish manger his 1st loyalty should be to the club who pay his wages and he'll be back when he's fit enough. Donnelly will get his chance but with Bony ,Vazquez then Rory in that order then he'll have to wait, he was on the bench against Utd but I can only see him coming on in a game like that as a needs must .
Considering injured players due to return this weekend for other teams, we actually have more injured players than any other club.
If michu tries to impress his Spanish boss then it can only be good for us, and cut out the aggressive tone as well as i only gave a reason why he needs to come back..
The fact he's had 4-5 good games lately doesn't hide the fact he's been crap beforehand. As I have said before, if a player deserves praise I'll give it, if he deserves criticism, I'll give it. Anyway, I'd rather see a Leon, Canas, jonjo, routs and Poz midfield supplying Bony at the weekend
Routs is a really good player and seems to be getting better the more games he plays. I dont think we have any really bad players in the squad to be honest as we have seen some good football from everyone of them...
From the Post; re: Michel Vorm SWANSEA City goalkeeper Michel Vorm is hoping to return from injury when Michael Laudrup's men face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. Vorm has not played since the draw at Norwich on December 15 because of a knee problem. But the Dutch international had a successful operation last month and is now close to a comeback. "You need to make sure you are 100 per cent and I am nearly there now," Vorm said. "Hopefully I'll be fit to play against Tottenham at the weekend."
I would have liked to see Sinclair back here on loan when we had the chance, but we do maybe need a pacy right winger who is a good crosser of the ball. I have been watching Ki closely since he made headlines for Sunderland and he has been feeding the Sunderland strikers with some excellent passing and i think he would be ideal in the middle of the midfield doing exactly the same feeding Bony and Michu when he comes back If he comes back for next season. we played Ki either in defence or up front and it never produced much but where he played for Celtic and now Sunderland you can see why we bought him for £6 million. he has been awesome these past few months and you can see the difference in Sunderland who dont have too many good players in their ranks....so as far as i can see we are ok up front, A good right winger missing and someone with the same ability as Ki who can pass the ball to the striker with pin point accuracy. Next season we should go for a bit more height in the team especially in defence but that is not so important at the moment....
Players maybe back for the Spurs, Tiendalli, dyer, Lamah. Players maybe back for Birmingham , Pablo and Vorm . Players maybe back early Febuary , Michu andDeguzman . Can't see to much action in the window except maybe a striker.
