Is it just me, but most of our signings appear to have injuries when we put in bids which affect obviously the asking price but also adds to the risk. Today we are looking at Turner, (2 Year deal only due to injury) we still have the enigma of Vaughan, Butterfield signed having been injued, Pilks had an injury when we bought him, also Ayala and there are others I am sure. Maybe it is the way of things but it is looking like that is our strategy. Is this to everyone's liking or are we O.K. with the policy as most to date have come good in the end.

Whilst I would rather we didn't gave any injury concerns we have probably got all of those players below what there market value would be without the injury. Risk? Yes. Will it pay off? We'll Pilks came back great last year, Vaughan looks like he's fully fit. Whitbread was injured for our first year then had a reasonably good 18 month run. Just have to keep our fingers crossed
Turner's 2-year contract is probably nothing to do with his injury. As Superman pointed out yesterday, there is almost certainly a one year extension clause, as is apparently more or less standard with our contracts, at the end of which he will be 31 years of age. As for the others, we seem to be forgetting all the signings we've made in the last three years which HAVEN'T been of injured or recently injured players. So we are focussing on 4 or five out of how many?
The other thing to say is that we have one of the best physio and medical teams of any comparable club in the Premiership or Championship. We wouldn't sign any players without the OK from them, and while it may take time to rehabilitate players who have had serious injuries, such as cruciate ligament etc., it does mean that we have a quality player at the end of it. It is also a factor which can influence a player deciding which club to join. They all talk highly about our facilities. They don't just mean Carrow Road and Colney training pitches. The medical facilities are hugely important and a major factor in that respect.
