Posting this thread so that any news on injuries can be posted. I have not heard any updates on Parker, Sandro (except it looks bad) and Gallas. Is Lennon fit now? Nor have I heard why Dawson wasn't on the bench against Brom (setback?) or how near THudd is to full fitness so would like news/rumours to be posted here if you would be so kind. <ok>
 
According to an article that just went up on the club website Dawson had only trained once before the Swansea game but made himself available because if injury worries for everyone else despite not being fully fit himself. I guess because Bassong and Rose were on the bench yesterday that Dawson wasn't going to be risked, given that the same article says he's starting in the FA Cup this weekend. The article also says that there's a chance of Lennon being fit for that game as well.

Redknapp's told the OS that he'd like to see both Dawson and Lennon feature against Cheltenham, which sounds like good news.
Hope neither's being rushed back.

Despite West Brom's resolute (some might say TOO resolute) resistance yesterday, I always thought we had enough with what we put out. I would rather see Dawson and Lennon eased back in against Cheltenham than being kicked up in the air by the baggies.
 
Would be great to them both back especially Dawson.He's been out along time now and the Cheltenham game would be ideal for him to return.Lucky we have 3 DM's or we really would up the ****.
 
I would love to see Tommy back as well, he is brutal against the lesser teams with his passing and shooting and we have a run of those while Parker and Sandro get themselves fit.
 
Never been a big fan of Dawson. Tries hard but too slow and gets exposed against quick strikers.

At most he should be back up for Gallas, Kaboul and King.

Like said above the one I want to see back is Huddlestone.
 
Dawson's a great foil for a more cultured centre-back, as he'll attack every ball and win virtually every header, but he's lost his place to Kaboul, in my opinion.
We'll need to have options in that position over the course of the season though, so it'll nice to see him back.
Can't fault his attitude or commitment and he was a very important player in the side that finished 4th, mainly playing alongside Bassong.

As others have said, Huddlestone's the important one now.
Being able to protect the defence and unpick the opposition's, too?
With the way that teams are coming to WHL and sticking everyone behind the ball, that's just an invaluable combination.

Kranjcar may have to take up the playmaker's role against Cheltenham, then.
Cudicini; Corluka, Dawson, Bassong, Rose; Lennon, Livermore, Kranjcar, Pienaar; Pavlyuchenko, Defoe?
 
I hope Hudd has learnt a few things from watching Parker over the last few months, i.e. work rate, tackling, mobility, aggression. Technically he is the better player, he just lacks some of the less glamorous attributes.
 
Parker had a fitness test yesterday so he shouldn't be too bad and could feature against the Toffees.

As I have posted elsewhere, Kaboul can play defensive midfielder- I am sure he did in his first spell with us- and then we can have Dawson and Bassong at the back although I am sure King is fit to play as well.
 
WY - all those things listed as attributes of Parker mostly don't apply to Thudd- he is what he is.
He has vision and size, but that's all- but we do miss him sometimes.
 
If Sandro and Gallas have torn calf muscles, how long would that rule them out for? 4 weeks?
