Ok guys, it's obvious that we are struggling to get 4th place with our current injury free squad. But will the return of Sagna, Wilshere and Gibbs be enough to drag us over into the champions league positions? Bear in mind that both Wilshere and Sagna have been long term absentees so will need time to get match fit.....
Talking about Cole by the way. Just realised this could read as being aimed at the poster. It wasn't.
While not having Sagna at his very best will be a worry, having the guy back will still be massive boost to the team. Sagna is a natural full back (yes we do have those) and not to mention the fact Sagna is a class act. He has the experience to cope even when he is not at his best in terms of the physical aspect. Gibbs, to a much lesser extent is the same. He is also a good attacker, and we have really struggled since him and Santos got injured. People moaned about their defensive game but their attacking skills was badly underrated. Gibbs has a sweet left foot and can bomb up down the wing.
I actually rate Sagna very highly too. I infact think he is one of the best right backs in the world. Yes he's not the best going forward but he is quality at defending and has a great attitude. I don't think i've ever seen him complain. He just brushes himself off and gets on with his job. Marvelous. Gibbs is still learning and he does get caught sometimes but agreed, his forward play is good. I think we will benefit greatly with those two back and finally we will have a quality reserve defender on the bench! How about trying Vermaelen as a DM? He seems comfortable on the ball and has a great shot.

I think we're all in the land of make believe if we think Gibbs returning will be anything but a short term incident! I give him 3-4 weeks tops before he's back on the physio table!
I'd much rather have Santos back than Gibbs. I really thought he'd establish himself as a great LB, but if he doesn't play much between now & next Christmas I really think it'll be time to move him on.
I doubt that this would happen as i think he factors in Wengers long term plans. Its a great shame that he repeatedly gets injuried as he has the potential. I wonder if he'll make it.... Id rather we get rid of Diaby. Yes he is a class player and almost looks unplayable, but his injury record is abysmal. Wenger has given him far too many chances and its time for him to go.
diaby has had his fair share of injuries so he has to go if hes not back by atleast last few games of season gibbs is another story its a shame that he gets injuried so many times i do hope it sorts out for him sagna is by far the best RB in the league and one of the top 3 in euro i do miss him playing and wenger will not bring any player back if hes not 100% match fit look at henry when he joined again took him few weeks to get fit but aint played much because of calf injury
I like this thread. It's about football. Even me, ardent Diaby fan that I am, am getting a smidgen disheartened by the fact he, you know, never plays. He's got to be on a fair wedge too so at some point you have to bite the bullet and cut your losses. I had to do the same thing with my car this morning but I've invested slightly less into it than the club has with the big man! Not by much mind... fecking cars. Personally I'd do the same with Gibbs too if he breaks down again after this return. Again, it'd be a massive shame but we're forking out about £100k a week on two players who never play. Furthermore we're not signing replacements for them because they're there which in turn means we play our starting 11 more than we should and they get crocked too. Argh, it never ends. Hmm. I've managed to turn all those players returning into a negetive thread! I am happy about it I promise!
