Having read a lot of comments from fans expressing their concerns about our form in the last couple of months, I thought that I would offer a reason for this dip in form (not an excuse). Up until December we had a fairly settled side and had used the least amount of players in the league, then Chaplow got injured, over the following weeks we have lost Fonte, Richardson, Lallana, Guly, Hooiveld, Lambert and Fox to injury and suspension. Any team would suffer with that level of disruption, but now we have signed very decent back up and have many more options with Sharp, Lee, Falque and Puncheon coming back. We are now seeing everyone coming back to match fitness and I think we will see a return to our early season form in the next few games. I'm not a blind optimist, i'm just saying that things are not as bleak as people think.

Problem is, even with the injured coming back, their confidence will have taken a shot compared to how they were at the start

Yep I agree, confidence is a huge problem at the moment, but with Sharp hopefully not infected (and Chung) and Lallana seemingly the same, one win could change it all. I think we are a good side too, hopefully big crowd and fantastic support on Saturday.
