So, as some of you are aware I was at the Download festival over the weekend.

Fri night we were dancing and what felt like 2 or 3 people jumped on my back. Next thing I know im on the floor in agony! My wife takes me to the med tent (im crawling) and they put ice on it. They examine it and tell me to walk it off. I asked if they were joking, they assured me they were not.

Head out of the med tent and literally cant walk, return for a second opinion, yeah its fine just walk it off they tell me.

They were proper paramedics in the med tent, they wore the right clothes and told me they were.

So I get topped up on vodka and begin the 1.5 mile journey back to the tent, an hour in and after several rests things are getting worse. I flag down a buggy with 1st aiders in asking nicely if they wil take me back to my field, we arent a taxi service came the reply. I said so you wont take me? I didnt mean any offence by flagging you down. They said no, so I tell them to **** off then let them know they are massive arsey pricks.

Anyway I carry on and back to crawling now, some security come over and ask whats going on and I tell them. She said she'll get a buggy and I said no point I tried that but she said she'll sort it. Anyway, 2 very nice men turn up who not only take me back to my field but carry me back to my tent as well. I had some drugs in the tent and plenty of alchol so got that down me.

At 5.30 Sat morn I need a piss so using my wife as a walking stick we head to the loos. More security stop us and see my knee triple the size of the other and then they call a buggy. The two nice men turn up again and take me to the med tent and I finally get some crutches at 8 am.

We stay for the Sat and get to see Guns and Roses 3 hour set and they were abosulutely brilliant but decide we're coming home first thing Sun (I had to suck it up and miss some bands I wanted to see on the sun)

The car is 2 miles away from the tent and getting all the stuff back was very hard, my Mrs obviously did 99% of it.

Anyway Sun evening my wole leg is really swelled with lots of fluid. Docs Mon morn, sent straight to hos. Scans reveal ive broke my knee and top of my tib!

They keep me in, operation on Tues morn to have a plate fitted and im now out of hospital and going to play xbox all afternoon while high on morphine and codeine.

Just to confirm, this isnt the leg with the benign tumour in that snapped my tib and fib on 3rd June 2013, it is the other which happend on the 8th June 2018. So metal in both legs now! Cracking. Anyway, I think 9th June 2019 im just going to stay in.

    #tldr #lifestory #summery

Anyone else have a cracking weekend?

Amusingly, that was my assumption when I saw the title of the thread..
I came here to say we will never sell him now.

Sorry to hear about the injury. I'd rather it be Sturridge than you.

When I lived in South Shropshire one of my mates started a small festival about 20 yrs ago. It is still going, link below. I think he is licensed for about 1500, but many more attend. By coincidence it usually coincides with the peak of the magic mushroom season, although other hallucinating substances are also available.

My neighbour saw GnR on Tuesday and sent a couple of videos. Looked awesome.

I know you want to be more metal mate but it's getting a bit extreme now.... get better soon though!

I went to Slam Dunk festival a couple of weeks back and survived unscathed.

    Night DR! Xxx

I bet your teammates were disappointed in your lack of focus at the game.

    Hey mate!

Good to see you getting out and enjoying the music

Heard of the festival, did Reel Big Fish play? Like them

GnR were utterly brilliant. My wife saw them bk in the day touring on Use Your Illusion tour and then Ive seen them with Axl and his attempt at keeping them going with new members which was a bit crap really. Went to Dublin to watch Velvet Revolver that Scott Weiland, Slash, Duff and Matt did and they were good.

Anyway, all of them back together (except Matt Sorum on drums) but Duff, Slash, Dizzy and I think Izzy (couldnt work out if that was him or not) and of course Axl

Had all the chemistry, hitting all the right notes from all areas of the band. Big show, even flew in by helicopter. They also played Coma! Which is a personal favourite of mine, they rarely (if maybe once or twice in the past) play this live, obviously they played it for me and the effort I took to stay <cool>

Even with a 3 hr set they have so many good songs and some they didnt play which I wished they would have done. Of course they did Sweet Chilod Of Mine and Paradise City, not that keen on Sweet Child tbh. Civil War, Its So easy, You could be mine, Night Train, Welcome to the Jungle- among some played all great songs

They also did a handful of covers, Sliver (Velvet Revolver) for instance and that went down brilliantly. Look it up and watch. I was nearish the front in the crowd, the big black box in the middle to the left as you look from the stage.

    Have a good weekend
    Night Nozz! XXX

Not any consolation mate, I had a new custom moulded leg brace wih hinges fitted yesterday, quite cool actually. It has screws to loosen at the knee so I can bend when time is right, a full fitting plastic shoe (still no weight bearing though) and this mesh stuff which is basically string dipped in plastic, heated up and then moulded around your leg. Complete with a dozen big yellow staprs going all the way up to my groin, very vogue <cool>

Anyway, get well soone mate, like the rest of you I dont hold back in my well wishes xxx
