Dexter is a relative newcomer to these Forums,and went from virtual obscurity to being the people's choice for new mod.
That was a very unfair situation to have put him in.
He probably felt overwhelmed by it all.
Let's give him some slack since he is clearly still struggling to cope with the inner workings and machinations of this place.
IMHO.
 
I personally wasn't distruptive anyway.

I offered free cuddles (and dummies) in exchange for being appointed mod. I feel extremely disappointed Dexter has thrown this back in my face :(

And saying that was always going to invite responses. As has been mentioned, you made a claim it was visiting posters causing disruption, and then ask them not to post. If you had just left it to a swans only topic please, then you would most likely not have got the response you wanted, its what some on the Cardiff board do too (sorry sparks, just an example) they say they don't want Swans fans to post, yet mention us. Its asking to be replied to.

I'm getting ridiculed here for just trying to be polite. I did not chose to be at the centre of this and I cannot understand why people would criticise me just for being different to the flow. I am off for my lunch now so I will not be here to provide entertainment for at least an hour

What I don't get about this forum is how people like to put a fence around each one, and you can only come in under certain conditions. This is an open forum. There's no reason to say who can or can't post on a particular topic. I should be free to discuss Swansea/other teams matches, I should be able to engage in off topic discussions, and in my opinion I should even be able to discuss mod choices on other boards if I want to (after all the mods affect my enjoyment of said board). Just because I've chosen to support Cardiff City, why should I be treated any different over here to somebody who chooses to support Swansea?

As long as I'm not being abusive or disruptive I should be able to say what I want, where I want, surely?! In fact if I'm anything, I'm a football fan ahead of being a Cardiff fan (expects "plastic!" taunts) and I like to watch and discuss many teams. In this case who's team am I an insider or outsider of?

Rant over. Not even sure I make sense!

EDIT: This isn't all directed at you, Dexter. This just happens to be the thread that I was on and your one comment just set me off. I don't want to come across as having a go at you.

This Forum can seem a lonely and inhospitable place on occasion,even for hardened veterans.
You've done nothing wrong,but you are now probably aware of the fine line posters have to tread sometimes,lest they offend.

Of Course your right there passive, we dont own the swansea board like fans think. no club owns their forums as everyone is entitled to go on any clubs board and join in any discussion they wish to partake in.....The only job of the mod is to intervene if someone comes on to a board just to cause trouble. This is so easy to do as the minute the mod see's or is informed that someone is disrupting the thread with nothing to do with the topic then he can instantly delete and ban said poster for the rest of the day. If they come back the next day doing the same then the mod informes the supermod and the supermod can ban him for what ever period he see's fit...This is all the mods job is at the end of the day. Its not complicated or hard to do.
 
I loved Dexter (the series!!!) Quality TV is in short supply these days. That and Breaking Bad for me.

I loved both of those series (although I'm still waiting to watch season 8 of Dexter).

Lost, Fringe and Supernatural are up there with the 2 you mentioned <ok>

Visiting posters were not the major cause of disruption yesterday - your fellow Swansea posters managed that perfectly well themselves.

Outsiders we may be, but you are visible to all. We have a perfect right to comment about things that are "none of our business", and more so especially when you cite us as the cause of the problem. That is a major error.

Haven't seen you around much, but don't see why you shouldn't have been accepted as a decent mod for this board unlike the other nominee - best of luck to you. <ok>
