It appears I have been pushed into the online spotlight during the course of the weekend. This I can assure you was not what I was expecting to see after my weekend away. There will be no knee jerk reaction from me, I will have to take some time to read through all the personal messages I have received and all the various threads too.
As I have said now is not the time to pass comment, I need time to digest and I will all answer your messages too, but as there are so many this may take some time so I would request that you gentlemen allow me time. I will also post my thoughts throughout the course of the day

I would request that visiting posters refrain from commenting because I can see already that was a major cause of disruption yesterday. Thankyou for your anticipated co-operation.

Dexter - I'll apologise in advance for posting when requested not to, but you'd better put those specs back on and take a closer look at what went down on here over the weekend.

Visiting posters were not the major cause of disruption yesterday - your fellow Swansea posters managed that perfectly well themselves.

Outsiders we may be, but you are visible to all. We have a perfect right to comment about things that are "none of our business", and more so especially when you cite us as the cause of the problem. That is a major error.

Haven't seen you around much, but don't see why you shouldn't have been accepted as a decent mod for this board unlike the other nominee - best of luck to you. <ok>

I actually thought he was taking the piss when he said visiting fans were a major cause of the disruption <laugh>

Visiting postets were fine yesterday in my opinion and hopefully we will see them and others here on a regular basis.

Thank you Valley - it's what a football forum should be, not a bloody closed shop for the locals.

As long as decent threads aren't derailed by visitors (if they don't desist they should be banned no question), then the more the merrier.

Sadly though, some posters on the home boards are so 'up themselves', that visitors can be put off never to return, or, to see it as a red rag to a bull when asked not to 'contribute', that they can't help themselves, and that is when the problems start.

Personally, I will look at a board for quite a while before posting, to gauge what the board is like, and I have to say, that this board doesn't always make visitors welcome.

Nothing personal Valley, I think you mods have had one hell of a job on your hands, and over the last couple of days, there does seem to be a 'welcome mat' more available for visitors, which is testament to the job you mods have done here.

Ifind it extremely disappointing that a perfectly reasonable request has been ignored. I have also got my own mind and can come to my own conclusions once I have perused everything so I would greatly appreciate it if people did not try to force their will upon me.

Dexter, all of the above quotes are, in my opinion, about you, you, you, and are leading me to think that you want attention.

If you have been put forward as a MOD, and you need time to think about it, why on earth start a new thread dedicated to you?
And then, to ask people not to post on you thread?
Apologies if I have this wrong, but that, to me anyway, smacks of someone who wants the attention and quite possibly may have a hidden agenda?

Just the view of an impartial outsider.

Well I have to say I like Dex a lot but can't for the life of me understand 1: Why he was rejected as a mod, and 2: why he put up a thread when he doesn't want comments.

If he was a mod he could have closed the thread, perhaps he's pointing out that he needs those powers to do the job properly.

Maybe he does have a hidden agenda?

Agenda now found and not hidden anymore. Well done gonzo <cheers>

I welcome comments from Swansea posters good sir. I only put this thread up because I have received numerous messages over the weekend and did not want people to think I was being ignorant. Already people, not yourself, are trying to impose their will on me. This attitude appears to have prevailed over the weekend too. I have not even posted one thought yet.

Please refrain from posting, just like I have please <whistle>.

I personally can't wait for an update on Dexters thoughts later in the day.

I presume you mean in the PMs you've received not open posts on here?

The Groovy Gang can be very persuasive - you'll probably find a horse's head in your bed tonight...........<laugh>

Although your intentions may have meant well Dex, this wasn't the right way to go about it, it does come across rather strange if you ask me, and surely if you were yet to decide anything, no topic would have been the best course of action. And if you were really worried about people thinking you were ignoring them, then surely a quick copy and paste PM to those users would have been the better and less extravagant option.

And saying that was always going to invite responses. As has been mentioned, you made a claim it was visiting posters causing disruption, and then ask them not to post. If you had just left it to a swans only topic please, then you would most likely not have got the response you wanted, its what some on the Cardiff board do too (sorry sparks, just an example) they say they don't want Swans fans to post, yet mention us. Its asking to be replied to.

My Thought for the day..........

This week, The Sawnsea board became the latest board to need a bail-out from the international community. Brb noted that news coverage of these events revealed two radically different stories: in one, bureaucrats enjoying the satisfaction of a deal well done; in the other, a board of ordinary people rocked by uncertainty and despair. In the same way, Brb said, the story of the Swansea Board presents us with two starkly opposed narratives: the ruling class efficiently doing their job by killing Dilli; Dexter and disciples left traumatised and without hope. But, he said, "both were wrong.""Whoever you are, whether rulers and rich, or ordinary Cardiff fans dealing with the worst of times, the death of Dilli is both a challenge and a promise of hope," he said.
