True but he played for a couple of very successful sides. He was a very good player who did a great job for his team. Carrick’s another who was wasted by England as the Lampard-Gerrard axis was undroppable despite its ineffectiveness. He was always picked by Fergie while other CM came and went. I actually think Gerrard rather than Lampard was the problem player in that era as he was incapable of playing a disciplined role.
